Scienza dei Magi is a compilation of all of this writings and includes Porta Ermetica and i Tarocchi. Pretty sure the English translation is just a small selection of writings, not the whole first book. Anyway, yes they are excellent, along with pic related.

I already read The Doctrine of Awakening and now I want to read something else from Evola, this seems interesting but its quite long. What does one gain from reading this book? Is it just a general understanding of the theory and concepts of magic or does one gain actual magic abilities? If one does gain magical/paranormal abilities, what are some examples and how can they be used in the modern day to day world?

You guys really need to read these. Evola described them as "indispensable" for someone wanting to study esotericism from a Trad perspective. He's right. They go into technical details and explain what enlightenment/awakening actually is. So good.

They are also very complex and have many hidden meanings. Honestly some of my favourite books.

>These authors of non-fiction are best supplemented by reading the stories of Philip K Dick (and his exegesis), going on a few trips and meditation.

Have you not read these? I don't know about vajrayana, but Taoist internal Alchemy is very similar from what I've seen, probably moreso than vajrayana but i don't know the latter really at all.

Does Bardon mention the subtle body? does he speak about the ultimate aim?

are much better imo, reading Kybalion doesn't give you much beyond some interesting concepts to think about, you still don't even know what the actual goal of initiation is or really anything else. It isn't Hermetic if it is widely publicized and spoken about openly. So I would say Kybalion truly is for midwits, you are just placating your vulgar ego (antithetical to the aims of initiation proper or immortality through reintegration with the divine) with abstract ideas instead of learning symbols and myth as living reality through practice and study, having actual goals (states of consciousness) to work towards. Again, the fact that it is so widespread in "occultism" proves my point. The books I 've recommend have a high barrier to entry, which is as it should be.

I don't think people realize how good these books are. Particularly if you're a Westerner with a Traditional mindset approaching initiation.

How good are these translations? I heard some people complaining about them. Are the magic rituals working? Has anyone tried them?
