I'm looking for one again. I don't know why I couldn't get one in the past. I have qualifications (4 year degree, blah blah) but I never got through the interviews. I think I'm just a scary looking person. Eventually I fell into working in kitchens which was rewarding work for me so i stuck with it. Then COVID hit and I lost my cushy corporate kitchen job with good prospects. Now I imagine my resume looks pretty mediocre.

Recently I've been pursuing overnight baking jobs and I recently got a job doing deliveries on foot which i don't mind so much, evsn if its for a certain totalitarian corporation. But I'll still be doing moving on the side to help make ends meet.

Why is Frankenstein's monster so often potrayed in popular media as a slow-speaking dumbsack, when the thing that made him sacrry in the first place was how fast he was able to learn about human culture and how cynical and philosophical he was?

Just finished reading Frankenstein. Can we get a discussion going? I'm interested in how he's the archetypal horror character and what Mary Shelley based him on.

My mate is a pleb, but he's got a good heart.

He asked me to recommend him some good books to read. He said he's into horror, and that sort of weird shit, and he's already read some of Kafka's stuff.

What should I recommend him? Doesn't necessarily have to be horror, just something that someone who likes horror might like.
