It's hard for them to kick you out when you are behind a locked bedroom door.

As for money, when you withdraw for long enough you stop wanting things, often your imagination (read: fantasies/delusions) is better entertainment than what can be bought. Outside of food/internet/utilities there isn't really anything else to spend money on.

The 5 minute period before leaving to go to my appointments was probably the worst part of the whole excercise, I kept stalling so as not to be early and have to wait around in public. When the time came to finally leave it was a brisk walk to the car and once away from the general area of my house it wasn't too bad. Thank fuck I didn't run into anyone I knew, it was bad enough having to deal with a talkative optometrist:

When I enter certain rooms of my house I close the blinds so as to avoid being seen by any possible neighbours who are walking by, I also avoid making excess noise when someone else isn't home so I'm somewhat like a phantom, being seen is my fear.

That's me, except I didn't care in the first place.
Also noteworthy, I don't avoid social contact because of fear or embarrassment, but because it doesn't interest me at all.
