I just watched KKHTA for the first time. I enjoyed it but I think it would have tingled my autism way more if I discovered it when I was 14 like Touhou itself. Infact I kind of wish I had gotten interested in Touhou before 14 instead of ignoring it thinking "all the characters are girls so it has cooties and is for perverts".
I wonder if I will get autistically obsessed with anything ever again.

Trust me when I say you're a better person for not getting into KKHTA when you got into Touhou. Presuming you being 14 was also roughly 14 years ago, you'd have been the most annoying kind of fan comparable only to modern-day fumonormies.

I didn't really participate in fan discussions though, I just lurked.
I was 14 in 2015. Though it was closer to 2016 when I decided to give Touhou a try.

it'd more than likely be the first fan-created anything you'd consume that wasn't a half baked fanfic on wattpad, so anything is great by comparison. over the top violence and edge falls under that umbrella i think

I started playing Touhou games in my 30s. Sometimes I feel like I missed like 10-15 years of bonding with other fans, but I also feel like it tickles my autism even better now than it would have when I was 15 or 20 years old.
