The previous game starred his buddy Shugo the faceless guy and Kazuna. Yes, in case you were wondering why his haired covered his eyes, it wasn't to make him look suspicious, it was because he was a faceless protagonist and they gave Reiji one since it'd be too silly two have two people look like that in the same room

Also, since Kazuna was the previous heroine and you-know-what can still happen to her, this sets a precedence for returning cast members in the sequel or even unrelated future games...
