I never formed a real opinion on her. She just hung around in the background for years and years, didn't do anything, busted her foot, went away and then she was shoehorned into Gaki's graduation around 2 weeks before the show.

I think it'd be more fair to Daaishi to get at least a slightly different hair style. One of the seniors said in the special that they should have styles that can be separated from even far away, and that OG always made sure not to copy each other's style. You think Mizuki the H!P wota would take notice of such words and not copy Ayumi.

I have to say Eripon feels more authentic than Mizuki to me in this respect. Still I don't really want to judge Mizuki's wota-ness. She barely ever expresses herself so it's hard to say whether there's a real wota below the shell of "idol" around her or not (by shell I mean something like >>9766105).

Wota or not, I can't help but feel she lacks a certain maturity as an idol. It feels like she's trying to be "an idol" and trying too hard, and not realizing she should be "Fukumura Mizuki the idol". She tries to look good, dance, sing and act like an idol, but at the same time doesn't appeal herself as an individual at all, which is what makes idols actually attractive and popular. She seems more like a normal girl who got lost in the entertainment world, imitating an idol rather than being an idol herself.

Even here I can't help but feel she just had her way done the same way as Ayumi since it looked good on Ayumi and she realized she could do the same, without even thinking she could do something more original.

It's a shame because it makes me feel whatever potential she may have is untapped and won't develop until she changes her whole way of being an idol.

I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else but I hope it does...

Yea, that's the kind of feeling I get from her. It's a shame though because she is really beautiful. There is one part in DVD mag 45 where she tried to tell Ikuta a joke which ended up in Ikuta giving her the cold treatment. Fuku then said, "But I don't want Eripon to tell me that it's not funny. Eripon is the one who's supposed to be unfunny!" At which point Ikuta ran off to find Gaki-san.

It was a weird scene to watch, but it shows how petty Fuku can get. I guess that's character building? In the end Fuku has to ask herself, Ikuta has that kind of character going for her and it seems to work, so what about me?

Well finally watched the DVD Magazine 45. 'Twas fine. Glad it shed some light on some things.

For example I understand now why so many people hate Aika. Or that no matter how hard she ever tries Suzuki will never be funny. That Ikuta is goddamn annoying and Niigaki probably left just to get rid of her. Or that Fukumura is just bland. She's boring, she's invisible. It seems there's been some drama between Niigaki and Kudo, although it's difficult trying to decipher japanese boards. Someone who knows better correct me. The video is here:

Apparently Niigaki tried to send an email to Kudo asking about her injured leg but a notification came back saying that address didn't exist. Niigaki was kind of offended that Kudo hadn't given her the new address, but didn't make much of it.

Anyway, some time later a mail came from an unknown person which said "Hey, have you seen our new blog?". Niigaki asked "Who is this?" and the reply said "It's Kudo!". Niigaki, a senpai 10 years her senior, then replied "Hey, you could have told me your new address".

Kudo answered: "Whatever, but have you seen the blog?".

Niigaki said yeah, she had, but first about the address and such. Kudo continued "whatever, there's another time for that! (? not sure)". Niigaki then: "Kudo, your character has changed from before" to which the 10ki said "I've become worse than before!" (also not sure)

Finally, Niigaki ends up saying more or less that the 10th gen are a devilish bunch and that now that they are senpais they are gonna be really scary.

Smileage should be disbanded. At this point it's obvious the 2nd gen has failed, or perhaps this entire mini-skirt lolicon experiment was a bad idea in the long run.

Smileage was okay when it was a fresh group of cute, energetic, noisy kids among mature H!P. Problem is that Morning Musume has pretty much taken that role now and is stealing all their air. I mean even their average age is lower.
