Music is not art. It's just a bunch of noise that really means nothing. Nobody can understand music as a language that teaches them important lessons about themselves and others. It can be art if the tune is actually an encoded message that translates to words, or if lyrics are included. But otherwise it is not.

You could say the same about language. There's no "true" meaning to words beyond the arbitrary meanings we've assigned to them. Therefore arbitrarily assigning meaning to various musical cues is just legit as claiming that there's something more to a book than random ink splattered over pages.

I guess I'm from /v/, in that it was my main board from 2007-2009. I browsed /a/ and /jp/ during that time period too, however.

/v/ has catastrophically declined. /a/ is much worse(like almost all of 4chan) but nowhere close to the level of v.
