Is she truly a pervert or is it a misunderstanding?

I don't know,I'm still reading Ep.4

But this doujin I was reading seemed to imply that she is fom EP3.

There is no Erika in Ep.3 (I'm talking about the manga and the anime)

I was, and thought you were too, talking about the VN.
Though I'm not sure if the VN and anime/manga share the same EP #.

They share the same number and story

But I can't say for sure that for sure that there is no Erika in the Ep.3 of the VN

Erika only appears in Chiru in the VN.

The Manga in OP's pic seems to be adapted from one of the Extra tips, "Game Master Battler".

It's not a doujinshi. It's the Tsubasa manga.

EVA Beatrice appears in episode 3 and 8, making a guest appearance in episode 4.
Erika appears in episode 5, 6 and 8.

Umineko is divided into two parts: 'Umineko no Naku Koro ni' (episode 1-4, the 'Question' arcs) and 'Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru' (episode 5-8, the 'Breakdown' arcs).

The anime very badly covers the first four episodes of Umineko; AFAIK the manga are currently at episode 7, and are still being released. No idea about its quality.

You should read the VN instead of watching the anime. The anime is a TERRIBLE adaptation, trying to force everything into the anime but ending up half-assing everything. You'll get all the spoilers with only a tiny fraction of the enjoyment.

Ep.8 started this year and it's published on Gangan Joker

It's from a collection of TIPS written by Ryukishi. I guess that Umineko is meta enough that it could be cannon.

>> No.9697282

>>9697275
What does this "TIPS" stand for?
I saw it on that page you linked too but couldn't think of what it meant.

>> No.9697294

>>9697282
The term comes from Higurashi:
>The game utilizes intermissions where the player can obtain several Tips. These Tips allow the player to read various supplementary information that may or may not be useful in solving the mystery. For example, one of the Tips can be as simple as "this is a small village; children who go to this school are combined into one classroom regardless of what grade or year they are in." On the other hand, they can provide valuable hints, such as being able to read the excerpts of the newspaper articles regarding the murders that occurred in Hinamizawa.

It ended up being used for separate short stories, though they do provide additional information as well.

>> No.9697770

>>9697282
TIPS (or TIPs) is not an abbreviation, but rather the usual name for in-game supplementary information systems in visual novels. It generally takes the form of an in-game mini-encyclopedia accessed through the right-click menu (so you get a menu like 'save, load, TIPs, options, title, exit') of which the entries are gradually unlocked as the terms are mentioned in the story.

TIPs can serve to provide information on subjects the player may not be knowledgeable about (for example, Chaos;Head has a TIP for 'RMT' (Real Money Trading in MMOs)), in-universe background information (Remember11 has a TIP for SPHIA, which are in-universe psychiatric hospitals), or just plain nonsense (Never7 has a TIP for the 'Popping Deflating Babirinko' which basically says, 'Haruka mentioned this but we also have no fucking clue what it is').

(Side note: I have no idea why it's generally capitalized, but it's probably related to Japanese people being weird with English.)

Higurashi had a TIPS system where in-between chapters of the story, you could read things like newspapers and reports providing background information you wouldn't be able to get through the story itself. Rather than short descriptions it consisted of short NVL sections (which is significantly bigger than normal TIPs).

Ryukishi also released several external background information works on Umineko, which he also seems to call TIPs.

tl;dr: It's stuff that provides background information.

None of that changes the fact that the best episode is still number 3.

You might as well just amend that to say the core arcs are better than the Chiru arcs.

Two more questions, /jp/.
>Bernkastel - friend, rival, lover
>lover
Is it heavily implied in the VN?

>In Twilight of the Golden Witch we find out that Lambdadelta is actually full of white cotton candy and doesn't seem to have any blood or organs.
How did the reader find out, did someone eat her?

Yes, though it likely isn't comparable to love as we know it. Lambdadelta and Bernkastel frequently proclaim their love for each other, generally while inflicting suffering upon each other.

>How did the reader find out, did someone eat her?
She was completely devastated in a fight with Featherine Augustus Aurora, who's basically the most powerful character in all of fiction (though I've heard Demonbane is even more insanely powerful, haven't read that yet). In one of the epilogues of episode 8 there's a scene where Bern is basically sewing Lamba's limbs back on her body. It's described as not gruesome due to her bizarre body makeup.

>> No.9699718

>>9699692
Featherine's "ability" is that she's a representation of the author.

That's Hachijou, her 'real world' counterpart. Featherine's ability is that she can rewrite any universe as if she were the author.

>>9699730
Where do you get that from? The only stories she appears in are the ones that Ikuko has worked on after all.

>> No.9701007

>>9699853
Episode 8, where she demonstrates her power, was not written by Hachijou.
