I wouldn't wish to live in any other time than this.

Before now; Shit, everything is shit. Entertainment is shit, life expectancy is shit, quality of life is shit.

Future; Could very possibly be shit. Could possibly have no privacy, everything under extremely strict control/supervision, internet completely censored, or maybe just an all out anarchist wasteland. Could also possibly be wonderful. Would I take the risk and wish to be born in the future though? Absolutely not.

And he's primarily a biologist. God knows what the transhumanists will come up with, particularly when we reach the Singularity.

My thoughts exactly

But being a mercenary/bandit/soldier in the past before guns got invented would be interesting. Wouldn't even mind dying at an early age if i it's due to superior swordsmanship.

I once wrote a program that crawled random web pages and downloaded data, then discarded it. It's still running on my mom's computer. Eventually it'll run into some parsing problem and become self-aware. Unfortunately, I didn't teach it the Laws of Robotics. I never understood why in Asimov's robot stories every robot's logic is hard wired. There's no reference to programming robots at all.

Personally I'm looking forward to the future of mathematics. Right now it seems too limited. There needs to be a new field like robotical mathematics or psychohistory.

I regret being born so late.

The world was so beautiful before we raped it. Just look at North America. So much untouched wilderness, an entire continent to explore and enjoy, and it was populated with an indigenous people with a fascinating culture that existed in the land for thousands of years without tearing it apart to build disgusting cities, railroads, factories, or all of the other filthy technology that turns the beauty of nature into concrete hellholes coated in smog.

Natural selection has been proven to be a good engineer with enough time, if I were the dominant species over the cosmos I'd like to farm "good gene sequences" in planets that I've sowed with compatible simple genetic information such as the one contained in Prokaryotes, in fact, what makes you think you're not in an artificial gravity accelerated vortex were times elapses a million times faster than in the outside which is used to produce media, good traits or just being a pet for the greater species that already colonized the universe before we were a cell inside their test tube? This sounds like a plot for a VN, where the main character is a would-be video game developer recruited by hyper-advanced alien overlords to provide entertainment. Of course, the aliens have already realized how sublime little girls are and their universe is one where every individual is a cute little girl, including his captors.
