I've done huge roleplay sessions with a few friends of mine. We used dices to determine the damage of the enemies, but that's all. Everything was subjective and under the master's decision. Ah, the chance of actions such as jumping or running from a battle were also decided by dice. And we used formal writing. I've heard about RPG sessions that took 1 year to end. Of course, not non-stop.

Well, I wouldn't mind since I haven't roleplayed in ages, but I guess that's not an option. You can try convincing some of your friends by coming up with a very good world and extensive quests to do. You could try building the world from the beginning, or you could just roll up with a simple concept and develop it as the characters experience that world. I've done that quite a few times, and people generally liked my storytelling. I'd recommend using dices for basic things, but that's not really necessary. 5 years ago, I used to participate in a roleplay fighting tournament. The one that would give the most detailed movements, and the most creative use of his abilities would win the battle. It was incredibly entertaining. Shame that the characters were limited to Nintendo. Would be cool to roll out with a variety of characters.
