What you're referring to as Otaku Culture, is in fact, Autistic Culture, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Autism plus Culture. Otaku Culture is not an culture unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Autistic system made useful by the Autism disabilities, ass burgers and vital autistic components comprising a full culture as defined by /jp/.

Because I'm unfortunately forced to use GPL'd software.

I've chosen some superior alternatives to run in place of them, though. Notably Heirloom in place of the GNU coreutils. God knows why people like those. I guess they get hooked on the proprietary/non-standard --long-options.
