I am not good at long-term projects.

My approach to learning is similar to a blitzkrieg. I get obsessed with something and do it every minute of every day for weeks, but then I eventually burn out. This is fine for learning little things, but terrible for long-term goals like learning a language.

You would pass up an opportunity to speak to Japanese NEETs as equals? This is an opportunity that filthy gaijin such as ourselves rarely get. I would throw all of you under a bus if it meant that I could speak with the Japanese and be considered as equal.

What' I've been using. I like it.

http://www/removeit/.memrise.com/set/10002844/jlpt-n5-vocab-5/

They use a different learning approach through memnonics. I find it much easier to remember this way. Also, something like this makes it even better. It teaches vocab, not strictly kana. While you are taught to remember it in kana and kanji, I would suggest memorizing or at least learning some basic kana beforehand.

Maybe if you go outside.

Why does everyone mention learning Mandarin anyway? I can understand Spanish, especially if you live in California or some state with a lot of immigrants, but what's so useful about being able to speak to Chinese people? Are we expecting the red dragon to invade sometime soon?
