I go to Futaba and /jp/ everyday. Honestly I still see some traces of Futaba culture once in a while on /jp/. I think Touhou helps a bit to make /jp/ closer to Futaba. The homosexuality and NEET threads, on the other case, separate us from Futaba.

It's my opinion that /jp/ should just become a NSFW 2D/general like 二次元裏 where we can talk about pretty much anything, but with a Japanese otaku culture slant. I don't know why we have to limit ourselves to a small selection of topics that get repeated again and again. Having a lot of split interests is perfectly fine. It's not like Futaba just talks about Touhou.

It's funny.. the Japanese welcome message to 4chan still reads:
