I'm playing Gadget Trial right now; it's pretty fun so far (if a little difficult).

There's 2 meguca meduka games I really like, Etoile Rondo something grief whatever, which is a puzzle game, and Grief Syndrome which is a really fun run-and-gun, I think is what they call that genre?

Have you played Ib or Yume Nikki yet? I loved both of them to death, Ib especially (found it easier overall, that's the only reason). There's also Touhou Mother, which is wonderful, and a STG called Super Sweets Scramble, which is really really cute.

If Yume Nikki was something you liked, I'm playing a fangame called Ultra Violet right now. It's not done yet, but it's really cute so far.

I like Magical Battle Arena in concept, but it's not that great. I don't really like playing the Touhou one either.
I also like Exception just for its silly concept.

Gigantic Army and Koumajou Densetsu 2 are fun.

It's a bit slow but the point of that game is to see how many loops you can do where the enemies have increasing HP and power
