You can't just sit down and see improvement most of the time. It might make more sense to spend 20-30 minutes every day or so for the next couple weeks than to grind out 3 hours right now.

But yeah, if you're new to fighting games there are things that will seem impossible but you'll slowly be able to do it, and then more consistently, through practice.

What I do when memorizing combos is slow the game down with Cheat Engine, and slowly work my way up to 100% speed as I consistently complete the combo.
The real problem is managing to squeeze them out inside an actual match, and I've barely been able to do that with even the simplest combos.

I'd recommend against this, because after all you are trying to instill some muscle memory so that you can do shit on a whim. And clearly entailed within muscle memory is your timings, which you aren't help building by doing it slow.
Melty isn't a Dial-a-Combo fighter either, once you learn your BnBs, if you aren't brain dead at observations you begin to notice the properties of your moves.
"Oh that's sweep, oh that can launch, that part adds gravity, this move gives a certain height" etc...
You'll even start finding combos on your own.

Pretty much grasping the basics though. How many C-Ryougis are running around? I figured she'd be the best place for met, as she is the only style of character that interest me. Not sure how MB matches feel in general though.
