I must agree. Well, horrible is going a bit too far, they aren't horrible. But they're... unappealing. I can understand Japanese guys fetishizing them if they were the school swimsuits they grew up with, but I don't get what foreigners see in them. Same with bloomers. Seifuku are just plain awesome, though.

The difference is that seifuku have inherent appeal, while I see none in school swimsuits and bloomers. Like I said, I understand why a Japanese guy would fetishize them, but I didn't grow up with them. The only reason why I would associate them with adolescent innocence is because elevens keep drawing lolis in them. The innocence connection is stronger with school uniforms, they're just plain hot on their own, and they're more instantly familiar to Western audiences because they hearken back to Catholic school girl uniforms.

But as always, arguing fetishes and turn-ons is stupid. You like what you like and don't like what you don't like, there's no science to it.
