Which headphones do you use to listen to your 2hu remixes, /jp/?

I'm considering getting either the Audio-Technica ATH M50 or the Shure SRH840's.
Can anyone tell me which one would be preferable?
I like alot of music genres so...I need to pick the one that is the most versatile .

OP, m50 is definitely the way to go if you're looking for the best all-around cans. You'll never go wrong with it.

I own a pair in which I also listen to huge range of touhou remixes, doujin music, and all other genres. We just had one of these headphone threads the other day and I also recommended the m50 again. Check them out as we rarely discuss this, it's more >>>/g/ related. Have fun.

Bose Quiet Comfort 3. Those small on ear ones. Noise canceling works great. Better than AKG's in that regard. Not as good quality for music when compared to similarly priced AKG's but where I work and go to school, very good noise canceling is a must.

/g/ hates me for it, but I'm rich enough to afford them and they've never let me down for the last two years.

M50s are known to have a non overpowering bass...it's at an almost perfect level, providing you break them in for 25-50 hours.

840s are painful to wear and sound too vanilla sounding for my liking. Whereas the m50s have a fun sound and are semi comfortable.

So, as someone who has already ordered the ATH-M50s/LE I'm looking for some reassurance that I haven't made a bad choice. Like the OP, I too enjoy a broad range of music genres, and decided on the M50's because, from what I've heard, they handle multiple genres fairly well.
If I was to say I'm more into Trance, Electro and Classic, could someone tell me if the choice I've made is bad/good.
I suppose I "would" send them back if there was another set of headphones for a similar price that was worlds better than them, but if the difference is quite small, then I would really like to avoid the hassle.

Op, you won't find anyone here who has actually listened to the 840s and the m50s, so all you will receive is bias opinions based on which of the two headphones the person has.

M50s have a weird fit.
They're rectangularish and might not completely cover your ear (corners touching your ears)
Also, the pads get really warm and uncomfortable if you are going to wear them for long sessions.

Sound-wise it's V-Shaped, lacking in mids. I wouldn't recommend them since you want something that can handle most music genres.

>> No.9158602

>>9151798
>ATH-M50s are good headphones, but listening for a long time can get uncomfortable as they clamp really tightly.
Definitely this, but as should be obvious it's only a problem if you're constantly wearing them. Might be the only thing I don't care for about them though, so I can't really complain.

I bought them after Christmas, broke them in and was pretty much blown away with how good they were. Previously I had some lower-end Sennheisers and the Grado-SR60i so I don't have a proper comparison at this price range, but the bass is nice and strong without being muddled or dwarfing any other sounds, you can still hear everything clearly. I wouldn't say the mids are lacking, but they don't particularly stand over the highs or lows, which personally I like. The highs are pretty crisp and I vouch for them being nice for classical. I haven't listened to anything so far that's spiked the highs either.

Also they're downright sexy.
