So, imagine you're a female in an alliance with another female to try and break a third girls' hold on a guy (they're close, but not dating) and turn some of his attention to you. What types of things would you do? He's a little socially dull and probably won't respond well to sexual appeals, and you're both a little too shy for that type of thing. Modern western setting if it matters.

My imagination's currently failing me, so I'm hoping the Internet (and probably soap operas) could help some...

e,g, the guy likes cooking and so all the girls go to Ye Cookery Faire and the girls make a much better pie than the other girl. Perhaps they could even cheat. Girl A could secretly buy the pie from a good bakery, and Girl B pisses in Girl C's curry so it tastes bad.

Actually, that's the strategy the third girl's more or less employed (with constant physical contact to boot), and since she's also the childhood friend the two alliance girls area really at a disadvantage. The rumor idea is interesting though.

This is the first I've discussed it, and hopefully it gets released (though it'll still be several months off at the least). My main concern is the artist not pulling through, but we'll see as time goes on. I've got a good general picture of the story though, so fleshing it out should be too bad (assuming I don't suck at writing, which is probable).

You could do what any woman usually does in this situation: spread false, depreceative rumours about the girl.

Or you could go the best route by having one of the girls in the alliance actually wanting the MC to go out with a gay guy so that he can't generate any descendants because she is a time traveller from the future sent on a mission to stop that guy from having descendants, which will enslave the planet, since one of the MC's descentant, a thousand years from now, will be the first human to get in contact with aliens and make an alliance with them to overthrow all the earth's governments and yield the Earth to the aliens, with the MC's descendant acting as viceroy. The childhood friend who is most close with MC is actually a reptoid from the distant future who came back to the past in order to make the MC keep his heterossexual tendencies.

In the midst of all this, the other girl in the two-girl alliance is actually a crossdresser and the true childhood friend of MC, which he forgot due to the reptoid's memory-altering beam. The crossdresser has an uncanny resemblance to the female form assumed by the reptoid. The human time traveler does not know about this. And the crossdresser doesn't know anything about the time traveller's origins and plot.

While they brainstorm ideas to keep MC away from that girl, time travel-chan accidently finds out the gender of crossdressing-kun. Cue love polygon in which time travel-chan can't choose between assassinating the reptoid and pairing crossdressing-kun together with MC, or dating crossdressing-kun instead. Meanwhile, still in the dark about the fate of the world, crossdressing-kun's feelings for MC start to wane and his feelings for time travel chick grow, but he wants time travel chick to be happy, so he'll do nothing about this and help her conquer MC's heart.
