I thought about this yesterday, actually.

For 2D girls, thigh highs are better because their skirts can be drawn shorter and it doesn't look weird.

For 3D girls, knee socks tend to be better because if they wore a skirt too short they look slutty, and if they wear thigh highs with not a short enough skirt it just looks like too much.

This picture is fucking ridiculous. There's not enough gradients in between the letters, and depending on the length of the skirt, there are many variables to take into account when considering zettai ryouiki.

For example, if you have a skirt line at B, it would look pretty ridiculous if you had socks that went up to A. Just get some stockings, or a sock length between B and C would suffice, such a small sliver of skin would show.

Honestly though, I don't really like zettai ryouiki much, I prefer the panties + pantyhose combination

A is excellent. The pinnacle. You'd be hard pressed to find something better than A. The slight bulge of skin over the top of A...it's heaven.

B is no good. Too much exposed skin and it looks like it could fall down below the knee at any moment. This look is unfortunately gaining popularity. I want to say "Hey, your sock is about to decline" to any girl who wears it.

C is good too, it's the A of the calf region, I like navy blue coloured socks for this area. Probably my second favorite area.

D is often overlooked, but has it's merits; it's more casual than it's C and E counterparts. It lacks the loli appeal of E, but is less 'high school' than C. Black or white are good colors for this region.

E positively has a loli appeal, frills are acceptable here, so they have their advantage over other areas, but are outclassed by the common-ness of C and A types.

F is unacceptable, I don't think I can respect someone who wears F socks.
