Fallacious reasoning, hateful man.There is no inconsistency with than answer.

The phrase "This same compassion, I'd show to you." is part of the respond to the question of would she kill a youkai for her life. The fact is she would not kill a youkai for her life. In the same way, she would not kill a man even though this man was trying to seal her. This is the priority order when only her life alone is at staked.

The deed with Murasa has no relation with this because the circumstances was different. The existence of a hateful ghost was factored into the equation. The result was just as you see it, hateful man. A determination was made and the life of a dozen of hateful man was deemed of less worth than the alternative.
