Reddit is actually a great place if you get the hang of the format and avoid 90% of the subreddits. Some of them are pretty great. Judging Reddit because of "*le rageface narwhals" is like judging 4chan because "shoop da woop over 9000".

My major problem with the site is the whole concept of "popular posts get the most attention". Everyone should be entitled to post whatever retarded opinions they have, without some crowd deciding their comments are inappropriate. Plus, the layout is godawful, and the basis of the site is in appeasing the majority, while on 4chan, even a vocal minority can have the same impact.

I'm sure some of the posts are funny and informative, but I'm just not a fan of censorship.

It's the same here though. If you want a it's-what-you-say-not-who-you-are anonymous community, 4chan is the wrong place. If I was ZUN!bar, you'd treat my posts differently to a random Anonymous. The same attention whoring goes on here, we just don't have numbers to quantify it.

Nah it's shit because it's popular, I know that's usually a silly thing to say but the biggest problem is the community has filtered in from icanhazcheezeburger/Digg/etc. since all the good users moved on for greener pastures or walled themselves into the lesser known parts of the site. Most of it outside of that is Atheists with victim complexes and people who still think Diablo 3 will be a good game. The Touhou subreddit is beyond awful.
