I was forced by my grandma to go to a classmate's party because she was the teacher's daughter and had called my grandma to discuss something and decided to invite me.

I just sat in the corner eating chips for a couple of hours watching them dance. Eventually an attractive girl asked me to dance, not wanting to cause a scene I went with it.

It was only until later that I put 2 and 2 together and figured out my teacher had asked her to do it because she felt bad for me.
