For those who've read it, I have a few questions about the ending.

Why did they feel the need to add a happy ending? It felt like such a forced add-on, how would a normal person even be able to find out that there was a 2nd ending to begin with, do you go back and search each of your saves in other games? Was there any hint given at all that you could go back and click on a new tanomura icon before his death? Although I can see how maybe they thought it was such a bummer that they needed to add another ending just to avoid people killing themselves once they finished it.

Other than that, I really liked enjoyed it along with the original ending. It was so bleak and hopeless that it really fit the overarching story. An existentialist gem of a VN.

I recommend anyone else who hasn't gotten around to it to read it. Even if you are super depressed, it will be a good reflection and meditation on those feelings. And its really not that long either.

OP, I don't remember any hints. Thank goodness for internet forums and discussion boards, that alternate ending would be completely lost, since the VN doesn't really make you desire a replay.

It kinda fell apart towards the end. All that faction bullshit took me by surprise and ruined the previous bleak, melancholic mood by turning into HURR DURR social commentary. It's still interesting in its own right, but it made it too schizophrenic for my taste.
