What's the Touhou creator's official stance on piracy, does he have one?

Or do doujinists have this unspoken agreement that piracy is okay as it increases awareness?

>> No.8830654

That OVA was pretty decent even though it reused a lot of animation.

If he hasn't issued an official statement about piracy I think it's safe to assume he doesn't give a shit.

ZUN doesn't support piracy and, of course, would prefer it if you were to buy his stuff.

A few doujin artists complain about piracy. Most don't care enough about it to complain much because they aren't making a stable profit from selling doujin goods in the first place. They do it for their own fun and interest.

Too bad no doujin retailers in Japan ship internationally because if they did, there would be slightly less piracy and definitely more people outside of Japan that would be purchasing doujin products. Of course proxy shipping services exist, but most people don't want to go through the trouble, and the larger retailers like melonbooks and toranoana are getting extremely bitchy about those.

I don't believe ZUN gives a fuck.

The Japanese are not known for pirating and if he wanted western sales he'd put the game for sale on a platform we could actually buy without a hassle, like Steam, GoG or something.

No.

Please explain to me how a project of this size with even professional VAs could completely fuck up Marisa's personality. It feels like they didn't even play the fucking games.

It deserves no sequel.

I'm not hoping nor asking that the games are sold there. I'm just saying that those are the easiest options for Japanese indie devs to reach the Western market, which is something ZUN has no interest in. My point is simple: why would he give a fuck about piracy when he isn't even interesting in selling the game to us?

Go away. It was fun and enjoyable, and great for the first full length Touhou animated episode ever. Aspie primaries shouldn't be partaking in the Touhou fandom in the first place, outside of shitting themselves about getting high scores in the games.

>>8830689

If your standards are so low there are plenty of Anime to watch, you don't need to ruin Touhou to get that enjoyment.

>> No.8830706

>>8830697
You first point is completely irrelevant. And I am ruining Touhou by watching a doujin anime? Right.

For the bottom feeding leech that you probably are, you sure do seem to set extremely high standards for what you get.

Why the hell would they do that?

I guess it's not worth arguing over and I might have risen the standards of the series a little bit too high but I still think some very fundamental mistakes were done in OVA that basic IOSYS flash videos don't make. Even the average secondary knows that Marisa does not behave that way.

This is my last post, so long.

I really don't know why. In fact, they have no right to know or control what the person that buys the product does with it. I just heard it in a few posts on /jp/, so don't take it as 100% fact.
