Any anons that can recommend those Volks head caps? Just got Reimu a few days ago. Putting on the wig is frustratingly frustrating. I'm always worried I'm going to bend the hairs.

I found Reimu's wig an absolute bitch to put on. The most difficult wig I've ever put on a DD. Everytime I clipped her hair bow on it was too fucking heavy and the wig slid off.

Also getting those front hair band things was fiddly and took ages to get right.

I have Volks head caps but I'm not sure they would have helped holding the wig in place at all.

Glad I wasn't the only one that thought that about her giant bow. It's nice, but I put it on once and never again. I gave up on her little hair things. I may try again later.

She is still wonderful. I love her in her outfit, and I have already ordered more. Have you had any problems with her clothes and staining? I've read guides on staining, and I have ordered already a white one-piece to keep her in, but Reimu's wig is so dark, I'm worried about the head.

Reimu's dark brown wig will almost certainly start to stain the doll's head in a few days with it being left on. I would consider taking it off, if I were you.

I leave my Reimu in her box naked without the wig on. If you want to keep the wig on and avoid staining then get a wig cap or wrap the dolls head in plastic wrap.

Same goes for colored clothes that contact the dolls body, they will transfer dyes over staining the body. The body suit you have brought will prevent that.

I got Sakuya no problem last time from Volks even though I'm outside of Japan.

Even if Volks decide to be strict like they were with Reimu and Marisa, using a jp deputy easily solves that problem.

The actual wig itself doesn't stain, it's the dark threads of the cap part of the wig that do the staining.

You don't need to wash clothes to get rid of dye; I heard a lot of people don't do it. But of course you have to be wary of dark colours. Light coloured clothing and darker clothing that comes with white cloth padding will be safe.

There is no excess dye. It's sublimated from the fabric by the vinyl and washing can't prevent that. I won't regurgitate what others claim to work except keep color intense outfit usage to a minimum, provide a preventative underlayer of clothing or use discretion and buy clothing with lining designed in.

If anything, just avoid heat, that is the main trigger.

If you buy PVCs and games just think of it as several of those. And honestly their lasting appeal is much longer. Not to mention they can pose and change clothing. Clothing on the other hand, well that's another giant black hole of money sucking. The only advice I can give you is that you shouldn't be going into this hobby thinking you can get away with spending little.

Could always take the wig to a hairdresser and ask them to do some magic, I know hairdressers around here do offer wig haircuts (Although not sure how they'd react to a doll wig...)

I'd say the 01 will work fine for Lain, but you might want to do some basic mods to it I guess. Like removing the default mouth and adding a new one. And possibly work a bit on the eye sockets too. It's basically what most people seem to do to the 01s...

Can't really provide any "solid" tips on what to do as I don't do any mods myself, I just have other people do it for me. :P

I don't normally like SDs in any form, as they appear too human, but this is just beautiful. Pose, I don't know why, but I not only do I not mind, I think she's just gorgeous.

I guess I take more of a liking because the poses and doll herself remind me of an aspiring model that did a lot of those poses.

Firstly thanks for all the lovly pictures!

i was wondeiring is someone who owns a doll can give a bit of advice... i am still looknig at getting a first dollfie and when looking over the volks USA store i found this: http://www.volksusa.com/msdmire10kit.html

i was wondering becuase it says its a kit, is something like that goign to be self explanitary? as i wouldnt want to ruin her putting her together...

also, what clothes can go on a Mini Super Dollfie? i havent looked at them before!

Ah yes kits... I've thought several times about getting a kit for a Mini Super Dollfie since I already have a Mini Dollfie Dream (it would make it easier and cheaper buying accessories and clothes) however, as you might have already suspected kits are in fact just that... a kit with all the components to make your own little dollfie girl sans makeup and outfits (besides her initial camisole I do believe).

Can't really answer anything about MSD specifically, except they wear MSD/MDD sized clothes, and generally anything made for a 40cm doll will fit. I've stuck MSD clothes fine on my MDDs. Stuff made for 50cm dolls will usually fit too, but some stuff might be a bit large.

Personally I'm pretty hesitant to get a kit because it takes a lot of work and without the faceup I have a feeling I would feel she's not... right. I don't know the first thing about applying makeup (of any intensity).
Don't get me wrong I would love to try it seems that putting a kit together should be fairly easy and the bond you would have after putting her together yourself and making her just right would be like nothing else!
