Do you ever get scared living by yourself /jp/?

Sometimes I do.

Kind of this.

I used to have some irrational fears when I was younger.

In the event of unusual experiences I would probably go: "my mind is playing tricks on me" if something I can classify as mental (if possible) or "oh SURPRISE, how is this possible, I must find out, it surely doesn't fit my current model".

It all works out in the end. I wish I could say the same for the Samurai in the legend of Kuroneko.

Does anyone else encounter this stuff?

Well, all I'm saying is, not only to you, but all, you may one day find yourself in a ghostly or evil encounter and it may be too late to escape their clutches when you may realize "Alass what have I done?! the lurcing evil does exist and now I am helpless against the darknes, because I did not embrace the light!"

No it wouldn't.
How could the modern people believe when they have not seen? hm
I have offered my words out of experience and do not expect adherence.

Let me put it more differently to you (I'm not the one you're responding, but still): Humans can most certainly create things far scarier, more evil and horrifying than anything you could imagine by a "ghost". Humans are already capable of the upper (unreachable) limit of "good" and "evil".

Has anyone ever thought if they'd like a monkey? Like a big ass monkey you could fight with and shit. Or a tiger or something and you just let roam your house. If you need to take a break from shitposting on /jp/ to get something to eat then you have to maneuver your way through your house without alerting the tiger of your presence. So you're trying to sneak through your house with your baseball bat to get a can of Pringles and the tiger is asleep in another room. Then he wakes up just as you grab the can and you have to just back upstairs and you close the door just in time only to realize the faggot janitor deleted the thread you were posting in. It would be an interesting way to die at least.

Nope. My great grandfather was the local equivalent of a druid and he blessed I and my sister to actively repel any sort of supernatural force so that evil spirits sent by his rivals couldn't harm us, so I pretty much have an antimagic field on all the time. Even if there are ghosts, I can't interact with them, and I might be able to exorcise them by walking in their general direction if the need ever arises.

I think you are both slightly miscalculating the statement and possibility of growth.

When you have opened the mind's eye to consider the concept of pure emotional enlightenment, the concepts of pure vision, in such a way that gazes well beyond the physical constraints and worries of modern day human constructed societal patterns, you laugh at some of your old irrational fears.

I remember after the first time I tripped, I just experienced a whole new understanding of darkness, of sound and the input your receptors decipher things.

Hey >>8692437
Jimmes are clearly rustled there.

No one is forcing anything, if anything a great trip is required to have substantial planning involved, both physically and psychologically.

What anime about ghosts would /jp/ recommend?

>> No.8696767

>>8696693
There are very few anime titles that can be considered good (Ayakashi, Requiem from the Darkness come to mind). The rest are just childish garbage (Ghost stories, Ghost Hunt, Kaidan Restaurant), while some are borderline on being about ghosts (Petshop of Horrors, Cossette no Shouzou).
There's one old title that I can't quite regard as garbage or not - Jigoku Sensei Nube. While the anime is of poor quality, crude animation and director work, typical of anime in the 90s, the manga is one of the best supernatural/mystery manga I've read. It contained a large range of urban legends as well as stories of Japanese ghosts/mythology, both modern and ancient. Too bad scantlation is far behind. If you're up for a quick fix then I guess you can settle for those 4 volumes or so.

Nobody is preaching anything.

And I don't want to know a person who can't appreciate evolution inside the mind.

There are lot of people who are opening up to lsd again for the purpose of therapy and those who suffer from long term perceptional disorders.

Rightfully so too, one of the coolest things about the Japanese is still the mushroom culture.
