In about 10 days, ZUN is going to announce the demo for Touhou 14.

Considering that TD came out not even half a year ago, I kind of doubt that 14 is already shaping up as playable. Or maybe our expectations are simply warped from waiting so long between 12 and 13.

I'd want a massive update to the usual Tasofro fighters, or better yet a new fighter with a new engine.

After a Touhou game revolving entirely around ghosts/spirits with no Mima, I don't think so.

We'd be just as likely to see Chiyuri or Yumemi or some such, in other words not likely at all. ZUN's just plain done with PC-98.

Something I'd be more of feeling would be a story involving the oni, given WaHH.

I would imagine it's not going to be a new... whatever the term is for the standard 6 stages + extra danmakufest format. 10-13 were all connected by (albeit loose) plot threads, so I bet he'll want a break from new characters and story for a while. Shame, since I really prefer the standard format and am too lazy/cheap to get a usb controller for the fighters. I do hope for a more plot-relevant EX or, ZUN help me, Phantasm boss. Nothing wrong with Nue and tanuki, but they lack something that Flan, Mokou, Yukari, et al have.

Yes yes yes YES YES YES. A new Phantasmagoria will be awesome, especially if it includes absolutely everyone, though this is very, very close to an impossibility. I'd settle for one with characters from 10-13.

Let me guess:

Reimu + Marissa (with 2-3 'others' not limited to the other shrine maiden & "Guest") are the playables against:

1. A 'returning character" (pic of course NOT RELATED)
2. 5-6 New characters, which all cause a glut of new fan art to keep the secondaries busy for about a fortnight.
3.Moar dankamu than you could poke a stick at, with new difficulty that prolongs the game-time by a WHOLE FIVE MINUTES.
4. An Incident that could have been resolved much earlier.
5. Game end = tea time for all.
