Is there a Japanese equivalent to children's educational shows like Sesame Street or Blues Clues? If so, is it possible to find online?

I thought that it would be easier to learn listening comprehension for Japanese if you watched the language on a kids level.

Are the shows mostly located disparately on youtube, or are there dedicated sites?

To be honest I think YouTube is probably your best bet. Mostly because it's the most popular video hosting website, and I can't really see Japanese children's television producers going after it with takedown notices.
