The issue with SOPA is that it makes it easy to censor the whole site from a single, user-contributed infringement. So following the analogy, it's like deleting a whole thread because there was a single CP picture in it. Wipe out everything in an attempt to get the offensive content without considering the collateral damage.

Besides, it's a real stretch to say upholding the existing rules is equal to censorship.
