It is equally terrifying and impressive how Katou Jun takes an active effort to gradually convert heterosexual males to shotacon. Here is a graph of the number of male sexual characteristics (testicles and the penis, which are counted together) against female ones (breasts and vagina) in each chapter of Avatar Trance. You can clearly see how he draws potential readers in with the premise of females or futanari and slowly switches the setting; especially notable is how the penis number increases greatly in Chapter 2 and remains roughly the same afterwards while the number of panels with visible breasts and/or vagina slowly decrease, culminating in Chapter 8 where no exposed female characteristics are present. Effective breast and vagina counts are smaller if only the sex scenes are taken into account, as most of the later breast counts are due to Beryl's presence despite her lack of active participation in sex scenes.

In addition, the number of anal play scenes increase greatly as the story progresses, and even heterosexual scenes start to focus on both characters' anuses (the Chapter 7 scene with Rosette is especially notable in this regard, and it is also curious that the blowjob scene in this chapter decidedly does not show Nao's breasts, despite prior chapters greatly focusing on the female characters' breasts on every possible opportunity.) Any heterosexual interactions that may be present in the Avatar World are also compensated by solo anal play scenes in the real world, this is especially noticeable in Chapters 4 and 7 where heterosexual scenes are followed by anal masturbation on part of Nao.

Katou Jun truly is a master of his craft.

Here is an exponential fit of male sexual characteristics per female sexual characteristics in each chapter of Avatar Trance. It is not a particularly good fit (r-square is about 0.8) but if the current trend continues, Avatar Trance 12 will feature roughly 85 penises per breasts shown and this value will be about 513 for Avatar Trance 16.
