If you've noticed we actually have been trying to avoid military conflicts after Iraq. We've had enough of dealing with the middle east but we gotta do what we have to in Afghanistan. The operation in Libya was a NATO operation put on the table by the European members not the U.S.

It was very misguided intel that Saddam had something to do with 9/11 and had weapons of mass destruction. They even pulled a lot of the combat support structure the units in Afghanistan had to go for Iraq. Which, ironically, is one of the reasons Afghanistan is such a shitpile now. The other reason involves Afghanistan already being a huge shitpile to begin with that had no chance of ever being a fully functional, beneficial part of the world.

Afghanistan is like the people collecting welfare checks who have no intention of making it so they ever get off them. They are purposefully being useless just so they can get free money. The whole country is like that.

The whole point of Gensokyo is a place for old and outdated concepts. A land and haven for the forgotten. Normal humans gave up magic for superior technology, and the rest of the magical beings and users fled to Gensokyo.
