Anyway, I'm not really interested in doujinshi, especially not the porn unless I find something specific that catches my eye. I'm all about the music. I usually don't make research, but did year I did some. And one thing I am waiting for aside from the usual is DDBY's Magical Astronomy piano album. I imagine it will be good.

Every year I pay a little more attention... My list of anticipated albums is already about fifty albums long, based only on things with crossfades available. I hope I'm not setting myself up for too much disappointment; most of the time everything I'm waiting for eventually gets uploaded.

I download every single Touhou arrange album every year that I can get my hand on. Not even kidding, right now I am prepping for another 20 or so left over uploads from C80 and Reitaisai 8 to be transferred from this laptop to the computer that houses my music-library.

I just don't research, usually. If it's an album worth anticipating I'll find out eventually anyway, and even if I don't I'll still have a fuck ton of music to listen too.

Not that I expect everyone to go through this hassle for that handfull of albums that are really good, but it's a big interest of mine.

That used to be how I did it, and eventually I just ended up paying more attention to the pre-funk festivities. I dunno, I have a handful of online friends who are into the same stuff and I got them into the crossfades and stuff, it's kinda fun. I don't like listening to crossfades, hard to say why. Even if it's a circle I really like I just don't feel temped too; it's like I'd rather listen to the music on the full album, the way it was "truly" intented to be enjoyed. And that's maybe why I was never really into that pre-hype. Also maybe because I usually have my hands full with releases from other events... though, of course, nothing can compare to Comiket or even Reitaisai.

I'm not that social about it either. I have friends who are into it too I guess, but it's mostly me spoon-feeding them good music. Everyone is different, who knows, I might retire from being such a collector and become more picky.

That's actually one of the reasons I don't like doing research... I am still waiting for releases from C79.

SOUND HOLIC's album will be from the 709sec. series. Fuck. Not that I don't like the guy, but their Kanji series is godlike.
At least SWING HOLIC will have delicious UFO. A~ya will sing Bishamonten; I want to hear that.
IRON ATTACK! will have TD. Rigid Paradise!
dBu will do TD too.
xi-on will do The Gensokyo the Gods Loved, and it will be motherfucking awesome.

By what standards? I enjoy them, but they're usually uneven, as with most mixed albums with so many arrangers.

I have to say I am very excited about the SWING HOLIC album being an UFO album though. It's a personal favorite.

The only thing that bothers me is that liked the formed style to the covers better. Close-ups are boring.

Come on, from Nana Takahashi's second Eurobeat tracks (I loved Earthquake Super Shock), to A~ya's middle-disc ones, and some crazy arranges here and there (I've looped this one for hours: youtube.com/watch?v=r0FVIwLE0Aw), what's not to like? It is definitely not 'consistently flawless' as one might expect from certain circles, but their Kanji CDs are top tier at 'variety with quality'.

By godlike, I thought you meant "flawless"...? My bad, I guess I mostly agree with you, though I do think they differ in quality from release to release... The fightan album, OMOI, is probably my favorite, 3L's tracks on it are really good.

/jp/sies being too enthousiastic sometimes rubs me the wrong way, so don't take it personally. SOUND HOLIC is good but I usually spend just as much time on their albums as I do on the albums of many other circles.

Oh, and Shibayan Records has a new release, this surprised me. This is good, I guess.
