That's exactly what I mean. The actual premise is though that the Momoyo route or at least part of it happened. They just decided for the purpose of the anime to throw in things from everyone elses routes to incorporate everything at once. The probably with every adaptation is they always try to put in everything at once instead of just focusing on one thing.

Like, yes, you pick who you talk to, but there's so little there before you go on a route. You basically select to talk to a girl 2-6 or so times depending on who and then you get locked in the route and that character select never appears again

And the skills are stuff are also really redundant

After playing the Momoyo route in the past two days. The anime is definitely based on the Momoyo route but obviously diverges after the Kawakami War ends. They even acknowledge that Yamato had his first confession and was rejected.
