So I need some help, I sugared my legs on tuesday with a test spot and it worked great after I had shaved my legs down to a quarter of an inch in hair with my electric razor. I haven't tried sugar. However I found that shaving wet or damp, and with soaps and oils works for a nicer, finer shave. So when I started to use an epilator I thought it would work the same but ended up with too many snapped hairs. The hair needs to be dry and clean of anything like oils to get plucked properly.

I use a Braun Silk Epil 7, with different heads. It also had a shaving head which I find cuts a much smoother and close to the skin shave than facial hair shavers. It makes a lot of noise though so I feel uncomfortable using it in the morning or evening. The pain... Well try not to wait for full regrowth. The inner thigh areas remain the worst though, otherwise I just bear through the pain. It's still a lot of maintainance.

I've tried epilating facial hair before but it's impossible for me I think. Instead I pluck, which takes most of a day, but gives you half a week to a week without shadow. And then the more irritating itch as hair comes through after around two weeks.
The first time plucking was the worst, but I think it delivered the most satisfying and longest lasting results for what I could manage to pluck. Later I tried to keep everything continually plucked, but you end up with a shadow because hair doesn't seem to grow at all the same speed.
Another thing I noticed was that the hair seems to be softer and less thick than it was at first, and also easier to get loose. It doesn't feel like I'm wrenching something out of my bone anymore.

I would like to get permanent hair removal but I don't know how to go about that locally. I haven't tried chemical hair removal either.

I think after plucking I can look quite girly from certain angles. I just hate my skin, and thing my nose and chin are too prominent. Although many girls have larger facial features.
