I've never stopped and wonder about all of the little characters in the massive cast of Touhou Project. Fanon gives them all sorts of personalities coming seemingly from nowhere and although enjoyable, I never feel all that enraptured by them.

But I guess this is also a strength, gives the setting room to breath and allows fans to find something they enjoy and contribute back. You liked a random weak youkai's design? Why not give her a name and personality then.

Then again, you get things like Parsee being all tsundere for Yuugi and I just can't get into that. I get that's just fanon filling in the holes left by the very sparse official information, but it seems so very lacking. But I digress.

Not much to this thread, just wanted to make >>8160560 a bit happy. Tokiko does have a nice design and I'm glad there's room in touhou for all sorts of characters and interpretations.

I'm okay with that, you don't stay here for years without a thick skin.

Not at all, a Tokiko thread is always nice.

Although, that dual-colored hair is kinda hipster, don't you guys think?

I agree with you a lot here. Without its strong fan community, Touhou wouldn't really be anything. I'm as tired of the lame, stale jokes that everyone throws around as much as you probably are, but some of the fanfiction and the doujin can be amazing.

Whenever I feel depressed, seeing all of the amazing fanart (here or on pixiv) always cheers me up. And there's not really any communities that do this as well as Touhou does while still having a mature and intelligent community - Look at Minecraft, for instance.

I find that what annoys me from hipster things is not their objective qualities but the attitude. Nothing wrong with dual-colored hair if it doesn't come with a "yeah, I just grew tired of the mainstream white hair so I got this organic dyes..." attitude.

I like Nitori's comrades. They might not be that candid, but they're still fuckable.

I'd like to use this chance to point everyone to the best post I've ever read on /jp/: http://fuuka.warosu.org/jp/thread/7816821#p7819758

Touhou fans are just... special.

What do you think the secondary color is? Blue, or purple?

I would love to read some doujins by that poster. It would be refreshing and informative.
Wish I could see the nameless fairies this way.

Since when is there six of them? I only remember three.

I can't approve of making up characters. It undermines the effort of shaping the ones that actually do exist.

Are you sure? I remember six of them alright, but can't be bothered enough to browse through Horny Hermit now.

Also, since they all wear the same suits, I imagine the kappa mob as a Trade Union too. Somebody should make a doujin about all the nameless characters going on a general strike. ;_;

I always wonder about how well the different youkai have gotten along in the past. I'd probably get pretty bored of the different youkai after the first five hundred years or so.

Do you guys think that youkai can die?

Yes, they aren't immortal, they just have longer lifespans.

>> No.8160717

Up to chapter 7, the following kappa show up, in addition to Nitori:
Bowlcut-tan - every fucking time.
Glasses-tan - chapter 3 and 4 (there's not enough data to confirm those aren't different kappa, though).
Fishing-spear-tan - chapter 4.

That's it.

>> No.8160727

>>8160717
Right.

So, this poses the question: were those 3 designed by ZUN himself or did he just ask for other kappa beside Nitori and then left Azuma-sensei do whatever she wanted?

That's a dangerous way of thinking. Next you'll be wondering whether ZUN designed Tokiko, too.

No, I mean a general strike as in, together with the fairies of the SDM, the bunnies of Eientei, the lesser kappa and tengu.

>> No.8160803

>>8160790
Well, I'm just asking. Besides, with Tokiko, it's different, isn't it?
