Enough about anime, manga, LNs, eroge, whatever.

Let's talk Japanese music, anime OPs/EDs or no.

Your preferences? Pic related.

I like the soundtrack from Index. Never watched the anime myself, though. I heard it has a shitty plot anyway

I like the Back Horn and Fujifabric. Also, LUNKHEAD although I can't find a lot of stuff from them.

Whatever? Well, okay...

Once heard this absolutely amazing Japanese song, this one guy singing a ballad and wailing in the chorus, with alternating acoustic and electric guitar.
Unfortunately it was way back when I knew zero Japanese, so my only trace of the song is that the second half of the first verse begins with a "boku wa". Or at least that is what I remember hearing.

But nonetheless, I remember it as a very good song.

Un-Go's ED is pretty good.

I follow various Japanese netlabels, and a few, I guess, Doujin artists. Some of them sound like real shitty freeware music, but there are a few goodies hidden.

I downloaded some fairly decent denpa shit lately in the form of the new GWAVE Super Feature by U entitled ULTRA U GALAXY and a compilation by a label/circle called Beatlogic. The comp is called New Wave of A-Pop. Very sunny stuff indeed.

Also downloaded a couple ave;new records. One featuring Rie Shirasawa and another featuring Sakura Saori. Haven't listened to them but they look pretty cool, both consisting of a bunch of covers of songs from eroge. The Sakura Saori is called "Tearful" and supposedly focuses on the more emotionally wrought side of things while the Rie Shirasawa stuff (Doll) looks more upbeat. Not sure, though. That's just what I could tell from their blogs and the group website.

I don't know who sings it but it's catchy. Other than that I don't really listen to Japanese music.

Onmyouza - 卍 manji (Rock, the bassist Matatabi writes most of the music and is the male vocalist. They dress in kimonos and the music is about Japanese folklore)
>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuYty8aVkH8 (video not complete)

(older)Mucc - Ware Arubeki Basho (Rock, the singer's family are mostly hairdressers, exciting!)

(recent)Mucc - Fukuro no Yurikago (Rock, Live! Here you can see the singer Tatsurou's voice truly is powerful outside the studio)

hide - Doubt '97 (Rock, guitarist from X Japan that killed himself in the 90's)

Buck-Tick - Dress (Soft rock, they've been around since the 80's and still going strong)

Metronome - Hello (The band's whole gimmick when they came around was that they came from the future to boost their album sales which did poorly in their own time but then they were still on the scene when that time came, haha.)

Metronome - Unknown (Denshi kei I believe it is called)

Floppy - Everything (Same singer, Sharaku from Metronome. More developed sound. The other member Toda Hiromu is in Shinjuku Gewalt)

Guniw Tools (Rock? They are just straight up weird. The singer was what the mangaka of Angel Sanctuary based the character Belial off of looks wise)

Shilfee & Tulipcorobockles - Dead Leaves (Same singer as Guniw Tools. This video is so fucking weird. It's like the second coming of Klaus Nomi from a guy with a lampshade on his head)
