Due to a very damaging server crash, Haven & Hearth has started World 6 yesterday. This means that everything has been reset, and everybody's starting as newbies again. So if any of you wanted to play again, now is the time.

After a lot of searching, I just settled in a somewhat decent place. Hearth secret is 'Lemuria'. The place has q30 soil, and I managed to claim a nearby cave. As far as I know we have yet to find a decent clay node.

Newbies:
In the character creation room, go to the guy in the corner and right-click him. He'll ask you for a hearth secret; enter 'Lemuria'. A set of stairs to the /jp/ village will then appear in the corner. It is recommended you read some beginner's guides when starting.

That's the entire thing, that won't happen again any time soon. They managed to fuck us up because they were overpowered characters who could break down a palisade with their bare hands; everybody's starting all over again, so it'll be weeks, perhaps months until the first such people start appearing again. Now that world 6 has started, we're no longer at a disadvantage, ready to be raped by whoever is bored enough to do so.

1. Run up to an animal.
2. If the animal isn't hostile, attack it (requires Unarmed Combat skill).
3. Die.

This game isn't as easy as just running up to random animals and hitting them a few times to kill them. You'll need a ranged weapon such as a sling, must have invested in the proper skills, and need a lot of patience. You won't be able to melee them until much, much later.

>>8035877
It is outside. Are you having problems using it in the character creation room?

Yes. Out of sight from a river, but close to a river is best. You need rivers to get anywhere, you just don't want to be discovered from a river.

Left-clicking and right-clicking. There are keyboard shortcuts, but don't worry too much about those.
Want to walk somewhere? Left click.
Want to do something? Right click.

Now then, you start out in a room as a floating ball. Left and right click EVERYTHING in that room. You'll get a gender, some clothes and items, and a name. Go you.
After all that a ladder appears. Go up it and begin the true rape-fest.

You are now alone in the woods, likely faaaar from other people. The first thing you should do is find a tree.
>Now what?
Shut the fuck up, I'm getting to that. Pick branches, pick acorns, pick bark, pick boughs. Strip that tree like I stripped for your mom last night. NOTHING left.
Now do that with about 3 trees. Your mom is getting gang-banged.

You likely noticed your stupid head got number floating above it during all this. Those were exp. TIME TO SPEND THOSE NIGGERS!
Click on the face on your menu bar. This is where you can fuck around with everything related to your character. Head on over to the 'book' tab to see a list of skills you can learn. Buy something cheap and useful like woodcutting, tool-making, or dick-sucking.
DO NOT GET FUCKING SWIMMING, EVER!

Now head over to the heart tab. This has your religion and personality. Find Tradition/Change and slide that bar over to change. Just do it, faggot, it gives you more LP.

You now know how to learn shit, upgrade shit, and work around shit.
Hopefully you also didn't learn that bears and boars hurt like a motherfucker.
Speaking of wildlife, if you see a rabbit, left click on it. Walk right up to the little thing, THEN right click. If you had a 2x2 square in your inventory, you not how a bunny rabbit. Right click it to wring it's neck and then butcher it.
You now have wet your pants for reasons you will discover soon.

>> No.8042692

Listen, they're going to kill you either way. Take all the ore you have and get out.

I've posted this before but judging by your world map you guys were dumb enough to create your village within a few tilesets of a river. That is fucking retarded of you. The rivers in this game are the fastest means of transportation and raiders, ore searchers, and basically fucking EVERYBODY use them to get around quickly. If you build by a river you will be found and killed eventually.

Looking at his bear cape it's pretty likely you can still exploit the combat system to kill bears early though, you guys should look into it.

I might play with you guys if you start thinking about longterm playing instead of shit like that. Ore is very common now and is not worth dying for unless you're a stupid greedy russian.

How much marksmanship does one need to hunt? It only affects aiming speed, right?

>> No.8047768

>>8047758
It's time to think about legitimate hunting now. To start off you'll want at least 10MM, more realistically 20MM. You'll also need a sling. Slings take 5 string and 2 pieces of leather. Having 10 survival lets you make a Q10 stone axe, a Q10 bone saw. Put together with Q10 water you can get Q10 leather. Mix in the best string you have and remember that the sling quality is soft capped by survival.

A Q10 sling will probably deal anywhere between ~5 damage and 60 damage. The minimum damage depends on your PER stat compared to the animals AGI stat. This makes PER as important as raising INT for a starting character since it effects hunting and foraging. Be aware that animals have levels, but they're almost always the maximum possible level. If they're lower than their max level they will have less health and give slightly worse quality butcherables.

A note on sling quality: Once you manage to get into a rhythm of hunting, bears should start coming in slowly. Not only can their hides be tanned for leather, but using the Crafting->Leather Working->Hide Strap will get you access to the highest Q string you'll be able to get for a long while. Eventually farming surpasses it, but in the short run it doesn't even come close. 2 bear hides for this and you can significantly boost the damage output of your sling.

Hunting rabbits has already been covered above, for everything else hunting is typically done from a boat. If you need more stones, just go to the other side of the river and get stones from there. If you're on a lake, de-aggro the animal in question and find a stone as nearby as possible. If you go too far away the map the animal is on might unload if no one else is nearby. Your prey will disappear if that happens.

Are those of you who were planning on making Mayohiga still active? I spoke with two of you a few days ago, and you seemed to express an interest in swapping crossroads signs with me in order to use the (very productive) iron mine on my claim. Unfortunately, I made a mistake while fighting and died shortly after we spoke, so you got wiped from my kin list.

I don't need to know your location or HS, but it would be good if we could have a talk through alts or something. There have been some developments on my end, you see.

Has the first /jp/ village been abandoned already?

It didnt last nearly as long as the other ones.

>> No.8078171

>>8078148
Actually, both the first and second villages have been abandoned now.

It's hardly a surprise; I mean, did you see the second village? It's full of /b/-level shit: runestones that have "suck my cock dude" "NIGGERNIGGERNIGGERNIGGER" "You're favorite Touhou is shit" all over the place, penises and swastikas paved into the ground in stone, clueless fucking retards using emotions and *actions* etc. It's a goddamn embarrassment and a testament to the fact that /jp/ sucks even at grinding games.

>> No.8078183

Anyone has any beets or carrots?
Will trade for wine, bread or farming produce.
If you'd like to trade, leave your name here.
I live relatively close to the 2nd /jp/ village.

That's pretty disheartening. I don't remember /b/-level folks even back when I tried playing games with Hotglue, and I figured Hotglue was the worst /jp/ had to offer.

Oh well, I will just continue being a hermit anyways.

Currently my heart fire is far away from my settlement so there's no point in spawning there.
I'll leave it like that for a few hours.

Try opening the .bat in command prompt (run > cmd) and see what the output is. Also see which version you got. If its 32-bit then try 64-bit, and vice-versa.

Of course also check that you have Java to begin with.

There's also some sort of weirdness that it gets with Nvidea's 3D thread optomization, that's what happened to me.

>> No.8080349

so, after I noticed that the plans on jp-village were rejected, I've build up a little something.
I'm still very new to the game, so I'm just sticking to the guides on the HnH-forum, but it's pretty nice so far

Anyone on windows who can't get the ender's client working really doesnt need to waste time on this game.

Anyone on linux who gets the enders client working really shouldn't play this game...

As for me, I really have no time for HnH between DF and EVE

Good thign about DF(Dwarf Fortress) is that single player games can pause.

Nice too see your still the same paranoid and untrusting player as you were last time...

Maybe I should learn to be less trusting and more paranoid in game. I mean, it did lose us our last village. I'd come back to playing if they'd revert back to the old LP system.

Good luck on the operation, I'll just assume its C5. I've only been up to C3 with 2 other guys. Before I just quit altogether I was burning myself out on L4 NPC missions in an Apoc. To think my original aspiration was mining and manufacturing, little did I know that mining is second to hi-sec hauling in brain-melting boredom.

I poke about on DF once in a while, still crawling with 25 population on my second fortress. Least I have ores this time.

heh yea... It was more a thing of we jsut couldnt make our gate fast enough.. the walls took a week and that was too long

>> No.8080656

>>8080654
Gate or not wouldn't have changed the fact that they came from the cave. Had we built one in there, I'm sure they'd have some way of just glitching in. They could probably even just poke a hole in the wall, considering a few of them can take palisades down with their bare hands.

That's in the past, lost with the last world. Such powerful characters won't quite be around for another month I imagine.

PVP skills are rather difficult to obtain, and are nearly exclusively used for griefing, as death in HnH is permanent. It is possible to play without combat, you just need to steer clear of any aggressive players and perhaps near all players at that.
