if you've got something to chat about just shoot them a line, if not then relax and enjoy your day. if you wanna just shoot the shit then send them a message for some chitchat and some updates. i don't think a guy who hangs facebook most of the day is worth talking to, honestly.

I have a small few IRL friends who I really love and a bunch of online acquaintances who are seemingly BRO AS F*CK as well. I didn't always. Most of my friends through the years have been shitheads. Only in the past few years did I happen to befriend a few people
that actually knew me.

It's really nice to be able to take it easy and do/talk about weeaboo stuff with friends period. People can make real friendships online. I believe that. They're not 100% accurate reflections of how that friendship would be IRL, but sometimes that's for the best too.

Every relationship has its own dynamic and integrity. If I like someone and they like me back and we have stuff in common and enjoy the time we spend with one another then we are friends.

Ugh just looking at the profiles that have been posted is bad enough. The amount of roleplay you do is disgusting.

I don't have friends and I don't want friends, they just eat up my time I can spend doing whatever the fuck I want.

Having a character you like enough to use as a name/avatar isn't really roleplaying.

Spamming /jp/ for friends is not /jp/ related. Reported.

You'd have to either be extremely retarded or ironically shitposting to try and find friends on the most friendless 4chan board. Reported.

>> No.8008957

Don't fall for this shit, /jp/. Let's not kid ourselves here, beyond a vague affinity for differing aspects Japanese culture, most of us are here for the same reason - a rejection of/inability to interface with normal culture. The people spamming their steam ID's are neurotypicals who only want to talk to you out of a misguided sense of pity and/or some kind of sick ego boost.

I know you're lonely at times, /jp/ - I am too. But we have to keep the faith and, above all else, take it easy.

Hold the line.

you're completely wrong. it's nice to have some other tangible way to talk fellows from /jp/. before we had mods, janitors, and other random people ruining the board and doing whatever they wanted with it then /jp/ was a perfectly fine place to enjoy the users. now we have mods and janitors randomly swinging by destroying the board. the difference between the board now and before aoc went insane is drastic. i'd rather have means of talking with people i like if some /jp/ has to suffer another 5 month battle between some neurotypical janitor who wants to impose his vision on the board and hates threads like >>8006228

i want to talk with users, not make images of a janitor, roleplay about him, and indulge in the new abomination of /jp/ board culture which revolves around saying everything i don't like doesn't belong here and complaining to fit-in.

who makes the board? the users. i want to talk with them, not have someone dictate what is allowed or not.

It's interesting to note that Japanese otaku don't seem to deal with this issue (of having no friends) as much, from what I gather. They make friends with each other more often, which is much easier due to the fact they are, by definition, more numerous and confined to a small country that is easy to commute through.
"Western otaku" on the other hand, are less in number and span over a number of countries, including the US, which is bloated as fuck. On the Internet, we are also similarly decentralized, participating in a large number of relatively unpopular sites. In contrast, the Jap has access to 2ch, whose large otaku community is intimately linked to pixiv, nico video, and probably a few other sites.

Ignoring the obvious stench of /soc/ over the matter, do you ever do IRL meetups, /jp/? Would you participate in any?

If that's what /jp/ is to you, I have no right to argue with you over it. Especially since, in essence, you are right - the userbase IS the board and if more personal interaction is your thing, go for it. Regardless, perhaps my misanthropy is getting the better of me, but I stand by my initial viewpoint.

you're either aoc himself since he loves to post anonymously or some cock sucker from /a/ who found /jp/ last summer. i made that post since i knew it was aoc posting anonymously and he deleted his post afterwards and just made it with his trip code.

whine, huh? you're definitely a cock sucker from /a/ who came to /jp/ last summer.
