My biggest irrational fear lately is that someone in a passing car will pull out a gun and shoot me in the head. It gets bad enough that I have to close my eyes every time a car passes me. I go for late-night walks.

My problem with police officers and guards is that even though I have nothing to fear from them, I think that it would be awkward to draw their attention, which makes me afraid of acting suspicious because my fear of appearing suspicious. I just can't break the cycle.

Hell, it happens in stores sometimes, when I avoid eye contact with an employee and start worrying that they'll mistake my inability to look people in the eyes with the nervousness of a shoplifter.

I have that too. Whenever I bump anything, I'm afraid someone will point to me and accuse me of not obeying our sacred customs of scarce bumping.
