Egyptians are protesting to reform an oppressive government.
Israelis are protesting to improve living standards and food prices.
Libyans are fighting to be rid of their dictatorship.
Syrians are dying to government forces for their hopes and liberties.
Greeks were rioting over their debts.
France has riots over entitlement programs.
Britain is rioting over police corruption.
Italians are protesting against their sleazy Prime Minister.
America has protests over the nation's long-term debt.

Japan is protesting over some Korean TV shows on their TVs.
Meanwhile their homeless countrymen are still stuck in tents inside school gymnasiums, trade unions are basically nonexistent, judicial sistem still holds a 99% conviction rate, government is doing nothing to prevent radiation contamination in the farmlands surrounding Fukushima, wages cannot keep up with the growing costs of living and male-female equality in workplaces is still a distant utopia.
If this is all they're going to do with their time while the rest of the world is rumbling over much more important issues, then I want my donation money back.

Also, I don't really care if they protest against K-Pop, since honestly it is pretty awful, in my opinion. Given the fact that they're trying to keep out foreign influences, it's understandable that they don't want that stuff on their TV.

I think people were peacefully protesting against some police killing of a guy, but then riots broke out and you have all the looters and shit. I'm pretty sure the riots have nothing to do with the original cause any more, and most of the people arrested have been punks under 18. That's what I heard at least.

Last I read, over 200 million pounds in damage, and 5 deaths.
