So yeah... Cocona. 13 years old in AT3, saved the world twice. At 11 years was kicking crap as much as a 30 year old veteran knight commander and the 17 year old ace. Comes along in AT3 and kicks out the most DPS of all the vanguards without using her preferred weapon.

Normally the reyvateil factors cannot manifest in the presence of the Y chromosome. However, all inhabitants of the third tower possess the reyvateil factor due to someone's grand plan to evolve humanity. hey guys, i'm playing AT1 with the latest pcsx2 on my linux system and running into some problems. there're nasty black lines on all the cutscenes and it lags pretty severely whenever my reyvateil uses any magic. i've got an i5 and an nvidia 330m, so i feel like it should run a little better. is linux compatibility just bad?

There are four phases, but similar to AT1 there are "normal" and "bad" ends where the game ends in phase 3. Phase 4 is also a bit longer than the earlier ones, iirc, so you should be clocking in at ~~40 hours.

And you are correct that AT3's instrumental tracks aren't quite as good as 2 or 1's.

The overall tone of the hymmnos in AT2 was wild and chaotic mixed with beautiful and soft melodies where as the other games are very diverse song to song. From top to bottom it has more consistency of songs being good tather than the large holes of stuff not up to par like in AT1 and AT3 (although I agree that AT3 has one or two more hits)

Whew. As of last night, I've seen every ending in Ar Tonelico Qoga. Finally, finally I can move on from Qoga. This also means I'm completely finished with the Ar Tonelico series.

I really enjoyed this series and I'm going to miss it. The short version of what I love about the series is characters and their interactions, music, story, Cosmosphere and delicious innuendo/fanservice. I guess it's easier to say everything. Yes, I even liked the battle systems... mostly. AT1 had a nice take on the otherwise standard ATB system. AT2 had a cool nice on timed hits and guarding seen on some other RPGs. AT3/Qoga WOULD be a great take on the real-time battle system... but they didn't do it so well, disappointingly. It just seemed much more repetitive and tedious than the others, even 1. I only liked the purge movies and the music changes (if they're not sounding crappy... be careful what Hyumas you equip). There's a couple other gameplay elements I missed/disliked but I'll save it for another post depending on how this thread goes.

There may be no more Ar Tonelicos but I hope to see similar JRPGs as this sometime in the future.

Another character that should have had an ending. I devoted a large part of my playthrough to her. I went out of my way to get more scenes with her when/if possible. I will admit that she is partly the reason why I liked Iris 1.

I do like Iris 1 in general for having this old-school charm to it (even had the cheesy line, "This is it, the final battle!"). I haven't played Iris 2 and 3 yet though. I have Mana Khemia but it's been put on who-knows-how-long hold due to Qoga (finished as of last night) and currently Neptunia, and Rorona will probably be next.

Her synchronisation rate with her tower is only something like 10% because she was never fully completed. The technology to complete this was only available during the Grathenode Inferia. She also received a patch or update to fix some bugs but it was corrupted or something which ended up causing her complete lack of a sense of direction. Also I don't think it can be changed because she was the first origin but her personality cannot change at all either unlike Tilia/Frelia.

Personally I wouldn't 'fix' her, she's perfect just as she is. ♥

Shurelia's personality is fixed because she has a HD-Cellophane, which is read-only. Frelia has the prototype H-Cellophane which can grow and change over time and it's what's used in Pure-Blood Betas.
