Late on this , played the demo looks really good .
However i liked the game as strategy game not sure if a RPG will be just as good.
Any theories how long the translation will take when the game is out ?
What do you think about Rance Quest demo?

Anyone else thinks they should released Sengoku on the English market ? I am sure it would have sold well all of my friends are liking it.
Sengoku is the only game i ever had to pirate i usually buy my games.

Yes SGR had RPG dungeons to (They where great fun) but i liked the Army fights it made everything more challenging and gave it big epic felling.

I like turn based strategy games its sad that it is a genre that dying out.
I would even say that SGR was more fun fore me then Civilization , it was more rewarding the fights where great as well as the soundtrack.

The only Rance I played so far was Sengoku. I'm probably going to get my hands on the other ones later.

The translator of Rance 1 and 2 already said that they will be doing Rance Quest next after finishing Rance 3 which they intend to complete around the time when Rance Quest will be released.

SGR took almost a year to have a complete translation patch to release.

And while the game is very great, because the hero of the game is a rapist (yes, he DOES rape women), that alone makes the game unbearable for the Western market that is censored as fuck. And even with that, the Rance series does sometimes delve into some crappy crap crap that's pretty brutal at times no matter how you slice it even if Rance saves the day.

Anyone want to give me a hand? Whenever I try to run Rance 2, it comes up with this and then stays on a black screen. If I install the english patch and then try to run it, it just gives a runtime error and closes.
Tried looking around the translation project's forums and hongfire and everybody just says to reinstall using japanese unicode, which I've done about five times now.

Using jap unicode, which works fine for everything except this. Mounted the disc with Alcohol, ran the installer in jap unicode, no errors, everything appears to install fine. The launcher works fine. When running Rance 2 in jap unicode or a few other games included they give that same message. If I install the patch and run it I get a runtime error instead. I've reinstalled four times and nothing changes. That's it.

I don't use Alcohol so don't know.

Our cases are different. I used two different rigs and followed the same gameplan.

Install Far East languages packs, run the install via D-Tools, have the game write the program in an Alicesoft folder all its own not as a subdirectory, then it all works.

You're doing something wrong, that's for sure. If not, the settings on your rig is messed up.

Alcohol's given me no trouble in the past so I've no reason to assume it's suddenly breaking the game now. I'm installing to the default folder since if I try to change the directory it does come up with some error.
Well, I just tried restarting to see if that somehow helps and the reinstalling is taking far longer this time.

If I remember correctly, Rance Quest will use both gameplay from Rance 6 and sengoku, but I'm not sure on this.
