/jp/ I have really been thinking about creating a website lately but I just don't know what type of website it should be.

At first I was thinking a blog style website on /jp/ related stuff but I think Sankaku and Danny Choo are too much competition and I think people tend stick with what they like and wouldn't really check an ametuers site.

So I have come to ask you all what type of site you would like to see more of?

Also sorry if this is interrupting regular /jp/ threads.

>> No.7548355

Just make another imageboard.

>> No.7548357

Who gives a shit.

>> No.7548358

make a better imageboard than /jp/ so we can go there. if you want a blog just write it out and post it on /jp/. /jp/ exists for a reason and blogging is that reason.

>I think Sankaku and Danny Choo are too much competition

Don't worry, anyone can be that retarded with enough practice.

That sure worked the last time around.

But don't you think the imageboard thing is kinda overdone there are like hundreds of them and most only a few people ever visit.

>I'm just not that interested in anime anymore, or imageboards. It was cool when I was 15 and it felt illicit. >But now it's just a hassle, and I can't really pull together the interest for maintaining it anymore. I'm ready to move on.
>Imageboards are played out, I think; an evolutionary dead-end. Anonymity is dead, on the large. 4chan has sucked all the air out of the room. Personal boards still have a niche. But everyone uses facebook and twitter now. The web is all about networking with faces and names (or at least extremely solid pseudonyms).

> thinking about creating a website lately but I just don't know what type of websit
what's your reason for creating a website in the first place?
You're probably doing it for all the wrong reasons like trying to get popular or get ad money (yeah, someone who sets sankaku and danny choo as their competitors before starting has to have his head so far up his ass he makes a circle)

>>7548366

Well, that's the beauty of it then. Challenge yourself to create an imageboard that uses new scripts and is innovative from the rest.

Moot made the site for all of his little ADTRW buddies and we all came. Then he let it fall to shit in order to get it more popular. Now the site is shit and it doesn't even reflect on what it was originally made for.

Personally, I like simple imageboards.
Boards that add too much bloat just don't feel right to me. Besides, imageboards are all about the community. If you have to rely on the software to attract more people you're doing something terribly wrong. It's like using Kusaba over Wakaba because you can sticky threads in the former.

Honestly, I think 4chan was 'doomed' to popularity, sooner or later. It was the first of its kind and it surfed on SA's popularity and lolsoedgy brand of humor.

>> No.7548394 [DELETED]

Futallaby worked pretty well up until a point. Shiichan barely got off the ground due to a lack of knowledge of PHP and Wakaba is pretty much the go to script these days.

I'm still trying to pinpoint the exact period of time when SA became butt devastated over 4chan. Probably when the ad's first started.

OP here I'll use a name just for this thread.

Anyway the one subject I know everything about is VOCALOID but I don't think that appeals to a wide audience so I am iffy about making a site based around it.

I don't think you know "everything about VOCALOID".

How about a flash/Ruby On Rails-based site that let's you record songs or something. Or perhaps a DB that let's people upload all of their songs.

That would be expensive.

You still didn't explain why you want to make a site without knowing knowing what it'll be about in the first place.

Because I am a bored person

I do the same things in the same way everyday and want to do something different with my life

maybe I can even make a career out of this if I try my best and come to find a new love for website creating.

>> No.7548446

I had this idea for a website but no way to fund it and no idea how to create it so I'll post it here in hopes that someone here will want to use it. What it'd basically be is online karaoke. The site would group a small number of people (no more than 4-5) and the players could select genres and perhaps eras for songs they like. One song would randomly be selected per person from the selected genres (max 1 song per person) and each person have to sing eachothers songs in addition to their own.

Typing that out sounds a lot less fun than I imagined...

Anyone of you has knowledge about making webpages?

>> No.7548471

an image board without normals, weeaboos, and entry level faggots would be nice. one that's separated nicely so you don't have a board like /jp/ where half of it doesn't like 3d, but we're stuck with idolfags.

some kind of random board not filled with fucking facebook users, gaia children, and normals needs to be invented. /jp/ could've been the weeaboo version of /b/ but people fucked it up asking for strict rules.

>CV01 Hatsune Miku - World is Mine Live in HD (1080p 1920 x 1080)

Sure is a tiny audience.

>> No.7548490

Yes Miku is popular but VOCALOID as a product is still mostly unknown the english masses know her "as that hologram girl" or the "anime singer" not as "VOCALOID2 Hatsune Miku"

>> No.7548508

>>7548490
Also VOCALOID culture is not just about the VOCALOIDs it is about every other related and similar product/character

Macne Series
Voiceroid
UTAU
MAIDLOID
Jam Band
Soine Shiro
Lalavoice
Sugarcape
Cantor
Kuma Uta
much much more

I think that this should all be taught to the new people entering the fandom because it's as much a part of VOCALOID culture as Miku.

This sounds pretty interesting, but it would indeed require quite the investment and isn't going to work well unless you make some inlet of revenue.

Make something like a booru. We could use another database for our shit.

Find a niche that you like and blog about that.
>>I like Vocaloids.
There you go. Get to work.

Out of curiosity though, are you more interested in working on website content(writing stuff), or website management(making sure everything works)?
