Depends. You can get a great adaptation if the people who make it are also fans and care about the source material. If they are not and just fuck around then you get something like the Green Lantern movie.

The problem is, everything things different about every character.
You will always end up making someone mad.
Even finding a fitting voice for a character is difficult.

Whatever you do it will start a huge secondaries vs primaries war.
ZUN knows this and is a wise man for not allowing an official anime

the only touhou anime i'd ever support would be a doujin anime. An official anime should never happen, UNLESS Zun is directly involved in the project, so they don't fuck it up completely. Even then, it would probably be failure in the eyes of many people
