"One of the most memorable scenes in Portal 2 is without doubt the final battle.
Although the selection of corrupted cores that must be plugged into the computer terminal might seem to have been explicitly chosen to add a hint of light comedy to this tense situation, their personality hasn't always been like that.
One of the last drafts of the game's script involved a Misogyny Core which, when picked up by the player, would initiate a violent rant against women, including gratuitous insults to Chell and a list of painful punishments it would inflict on all females of the world. All of this was intended to be spoken in a distinctly neurotic voice.
It is argued among the creative staff that this was to explain Wheatley's sudden and unwarranted hatred toward the two female protagonists - Chell and GLaDOS - which he eventually makes manifest when he is given full control of the facility.
This variant of the plot came incredibly close to becoming the final version. The only thing that prevented it were concerns over possible controversy, resulting in eleventh-hour adjustments to the script. The Misogyny Core was eventually scrapped in favor of the Space Core, its limited and unpolished array of phrases being a direct consequence of time constraints."

How would the Misogyny Core explain Wheatley's sudden hatred of women if it isn't attached to him until well after his sudden personality change?
