Why don't more people love the Prismrivers, by the way? They've got great ZUN art, the prettiest patterns and the silliest hats in PCB, an awesome theme, a very decent backstory, and they're fun to play as in PoFV.

I believe you're both forgetting just how disgustingly vague touhou is. What I'm saying is that Yuyuko is possibly Layla. Not saying it's CERTAIN or LIKELY, just possible.
Let's start with Layla. Almost nothing is said about her, and she has no official art, all that's certain is that she was human when she was alive (like Yuyuko) and that "The fourth daughter, Layla, was unable to leave the mansion that held so many of her memories. Using her strongest power, she conjured poltergeists with the appearance of her older sisters, then vanished along with the mansion and the poltergeists.Time moved on, and the death of the four people from those old days came to pass; the mansion, now called the Poltergeist Mansion, remained in Gensokyo." Meaning her appearance is unknown.
Yuyuko (which can be interpreted as secluded child, secluded meaning withdrawn from or involving little human or social activity, which easily could've been what Layla's life was like when "each daughter went her own separate way" and layla stayed in the mansion") has a human life just as mysterious as layla, since not even yuyuko seems to remember anything from her human life other than the fact that she killed herself and was used to place a seal on the Saigyou Ayakashi. It is possible that this happened after Layla disappeared.
"According to the setting text and danmaku of PCB, it is imposed that Yuyuko's father is Saigyou Houshi (西行法師). This is related to her family name "Saigyouji" (西行寺)" This takes credibility away from the idea that her and Layla are the same, ALL the credibility to be honest. However it is possible that she's an adopted child, in which case, the credibility doesn't disappear suddenly, in fact it's the only condition under which it's possible that they're the same person.

I wonder if ZUN made things so damn vague so dumbasses like me would guess at silly shit like this or if he just didn't feel like writing too much...
