How do you even access PSN stores outside of your region?
And even if you did, are all of it,100% compatible? I mean, some services aren't provided in all areas so I figure it wouldn't work. And the reason these dumb region things even exists is because of liscenses isn't that right? So can one expect everything to actually work?

My friend has the AH3 JP LE and the art book is pretty crap. If it's 144 pages, then it may indeed be the actual art book that you'd have to buy separately.

The guys who publish these games in the UK also did BlazBlue and the £17 PS3/360 Limited Edition they did came with the same art book as my friend's £100 BBCS JP LE.

They organised an event with Mori (BB) and Ishitawa (GG) in London where I got my JP BBCS and JP GGX signed. Pretty cool.

Actually, it will. The shipping to America is rather huge though for some reason.
One is to be grateful that the original game is so cheap though. I mean, in the UK you actually get this version of the game for a cheaper price than most regular games, only that this is a rather huge special edition bundle.
It is still semi-cheap for other EU folks. But for America I suppose it is a price more similair to other huge special edition packs. Think SC2's limited edition or something.

The ranked matches should be high level play.
I mean, just imagine the opposite scenario, if everyone sucked in the ranked matches. It would sort of diminish the point of it almost to some extent.

It might be a bit sad if that level is too high for oneself though. But one can always host rooms for friends, and were no such people to be available/exist, one can always try to scout the game's IRC channels or something after players of similair skill level.
Otherwise one can always train and become better.
But the game isn't dead, there are more players than one perhaps might think, and most of them are dedicated. And with the physical x-box release coming up, and the European launch one can bet it is going to grow some more.

If it resembles any fighting game, I'd have to say it resembles hisoutensoku the most.

You have flight (but more restricted), guard cancels (like border escapes), airblocking (and no need to be on the ground), bullets to gain momentum (love balls and wind cutters), and most importantly, some variation in how you can play each character.

Like the deck system in soku, you can modify what your character is capable of. Want more bursts? Pick an arcana with faster regen time. Want a pushblock, pick wind arcana and pushblock all you want. Want that vine move for some meterless combos? Pick plant arcana and plant away.

Even stylistically, both have all girl casts.

This game is soku, modified, and ported to PS3.

I still don't get why people consider Arcana Heart to be more "fanservice:y" than Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.
In Mortal Kombat they fight in rags, showing off under/side-boobs if not more, and are jiggly, with skin all over, jumping around doing things.
Is it just that the gore somehow, de-bunks the fanservice following some weird normal people logic?

But what about Street Fighter? Street Fighter doesn't have that excuse. I mean, do people have any idea of the numerous pantyshots there are in the Street Fighter games? The thing is full of fetishised outfits, highcuts and even frills.

>> No.7442241

In north america, there is an overt obsession with having sex with little girls.

For this reason, anything possible will become an implication of pedophilia in the american mind.

The fact that Street Fighter is full of fetished outfits means little, it is the apparent age of the characters which attracts this attention.

Like Miyamoto Musashi, the killing intent that is little girls being sexualized is not that of the Japanese creators, but instead the very ones who criticize it for sexualizing children.

I see where you are coming from, but most characters in SF are actually normally dressed while in AH3 pretty much every character has some fanservice(But that's just my opinion since I'm very prude and it's difficult to draw the line of fanservice)

I don't like anservice in AH3 but I also dislike characters with fanservice with fanservice in any other game including SF

My main is Juri because I like her moves and personality, but I wish she would have a not so slutty alternative costume

AH uses a generic ecchi anime artstyle that makes it more creepy. Street Fighter's atheistic is more like Dragon Ball Z while Arcana Heart is like Ladies versus Butlers.

Arcana Heart's only appealing factor other than the gameplay is the moe fanservice. While Street Fighter fans really like the iconic "badass" characters in Street Fighter for non-sexual reasons.
There's fan service in Street Fighter, but a very low ratio of the characters are made soley to whack off to.

So Eko, Catherine, Konoha, Kira and Angelia single handedly ruined the game in the eyes of those people?
These 5/23 characters?

Didn't even need to list Dorothy or Nazuna, not only are they dressed properly in every way, there is absolutely nothing kinky about them.
I also can't really see the problem with Eko, she isn't even dressed badly in anyway. Or wait! So I thought, she have a possible win animation in which she changes into a swimsuit, behind a curtain, but even that swimsuit is a perfectly normal one.
Catherine could possibly wake associations with those car models, laying on top of new Toyotas or whatever, and there might even be a slight intent of that, but other than that, there really isn't really anything sexual about her.
Kira has the swimsuit, yes. But what do you expect from someone who spends most of her time in a blob of water, a full-body scuba-diving set? Nothing even wrong with the swimsuit itself, its what you would expect a girl her age to have.
Likewise, Konoha is wearing a P.E uniform. Millions of girls wear them daily, and it is also far from unique to this game. The stockings are also directly tied to the whole ninja thing, otherwise it wouldn't show.
Angelia though, yeah sure. She is showing skin and all and doesn't have much on her. But guess what? She is an otherwordly being, a sprite of sorts, and, it is a pajama. She is even carrying some (living) stuffed-animal/pillow hybrid thing, as expected of a child at bed-time. If anything, it is made to look innocent, she even has a starting animation in which she looks particuarly sleepy and is rubbing her eyes.

Things liket his makes me wonder who the real perverts are.

Just because you can make up reasons for the fanservice doesn't mean that you have justfied them.

You do have some good points, but you might aswell ask: Why not normal clothing?
Why this sort of clothing?
The devs know very well what they are doing and everybody knows that sex sells.

Personally I'd prefer a all girls cast game with pure maidens like in Soku. But by that I don't try to judge you for being a hurr pedo.I can understand when you enjoy such characters and their lewdness, but personally I don't like them.

Trying to say that AH3 is NOT full of fanservice is silly though.

Oh wow. It was never subtle (unless you count the time when there was only Ryu/Ken), and it only grew to become worse.
Cammy being a prime example. Although her ass and boobs have grown, she was always sexualized even from she was in pixels. And she have always hugging people's faces with her crotch and swinging her booty all over the place.
But there is a reason the skirts turned upside down on all those other characters' attacks, and it isn't just gravity.

>Why not normal clothing?
Most of them have normal clothing.
I mean, a fifth of the cast wears their traditional School Uniform. Considering how students in real life tend to wear it more than not, it isn't that weird.
Dorothy is a magician and wears a magical get-up. To have "normal" clothes as a stage magician would be abnormal clothing.
Nuns fighting with crosses, wearing nunnary garbs.
Zenia's clothing actually could be considered normal casual wear to some, though the shirt/tie might come off as a bit formal.
Oh, and Kira needs some sort of water adapted clothing.

Point being, most wear the clothes one would expect them to have, and the others simply aren't normal people, so they don't wear what would be considered normal clothes, but the clothes still fit their theme/type of character.
So the question basically switches to, "Why not have 'normal' characters?" And I believe we all know there are many reasons for that.

Back then I only had Street Fighter, but you can bet I would have played that game alot, were I to have had it back then. It actually doesn't look bad compared to what was around.

If someone were to drag me around to an actual tourney sometime (even though I don't really like that sort of stuff, going out, lots of loud people...), I would make sure to play that game right there.
Wouldn't care about what people would say, if it were to cause big enough of a comotion one could even have a mini tourney of it.
Somehow, I think lots of people would consider playing, just because it would be Sailor Moon and all that you wouldn't expect someone to play.

I'd say it's harder to tell the truth, but that's because I haven't played it too much...I can't find the character that clicks with me. I like Kamui but there's something lacking about her that I can't explain, and I like Saki except I don't know how to do much damage with her and for some reason I can't get some of her special moves to work. AH3 is more much difficult and has far more depth. For one you'll actually have to practice your character to get anywhere with them. Theres a few characters you can just BC->Super with, but thats still fairly limited.

Flying around aimlessly won't get you anywhere in this game either. You will get your ass beat if you can't learn basic movement & spacing, something soku doesn't require much of.

On the topic of characters then, I guess I'll ask which character and arcana might suit me. I tend to like close range combat with perhaps a tiny amount of long range pressure to compliment my close range. I like being able to go on the offensive and put on extreme pressure and do decent to good damage and hate camping. I've given most of them a try at least but I can't find a combination that fits my preferences yet.

But the game is growing wonderfully. Barely even liked CT at all. Found CS to be a major improvement, and it could be lots of fun in moderate quantaties, but CS2 stepped it up a level, so it is now lots of fun and with a better flow.
CT was crap is comparison, but it took ages for GG to make as much progress. But CS2 is the best thing that have happened to BB.

I also really like Platinum and the way she plays. Thought I would do so from the beginning I saw her on the arcades. Didn't like Makoto or Valkenhayn that much at all sadly, but Platinum has a nice flow about her.

Yes, the one key difference is that it is much harder than Soku. Unless you play simple, you just can't do aaaa super like you normally do. Combos will take some practice. Even the act of putting bullets on the screen requires an actual fireball input instead of a button press.

Another difference would be how much harder it is to get up safely after being knocked down. Because of the speed of this game's fly, you can be easily crossed up and quickly reknocked down.
