Mods go in the "arcs" folder inside the 3DCG game folder. Saves go inside My Documents/TechArts3D/TDCG/. Poses go inside /TDCG/pose/.

If you are looking for general hard saves, try browsing the hard save preview folder linked in the OP. Remember that the files contained are only images and not hard saves, but at least one person on /jp/ has every hard save contained in the folder, so if you see one you like, request it by asking for the full file name you see there.

I've been trying to get these mods to work for a long time but I'm autistic.
I think the problem is that I just can't install the XP patch.
Is there a big difference in the XP version? because I keep trying to update it but it doesn't seem to do anything.

first of all i'm not really sure what your problem is. you say you can't get them to work, but in what way? do they not display, not appear on the menu, cause the game to crash?

as long as your TDCG window displays that it's the XP version then that means the XP patch is installed regardless of whether you can tell the difference.

i compiled a bunch of effects for mmd. this is way more than last time. i tried to make some basic organization. the "file links and notes" has links to basic files such as some sample motions(dances only), pmdeditor, mme itself, tso2pmd, and the newest version of mmd.

it was just intended as another mme pack for anyone interested but i suppose with the links inside of it you could call it a bit of a TDCG-related starter pack. however, i just slapped it together and only explained where i thought it would be pretty much impossible to figure out without experimenting/japanese, so expect to have to experiment to figure out what stuff does unless you want a really long explanation(which i can provide, but didn't include because i doubt anyone would read it).

there are lots of effects, but my general approach was to include things that are artistically related but not theatric/contextual. there's things from NHCL shaders to motion blur to size scaling to multiple camera monitors, etc. etc, but not stuff like fireballs or turning models into holograms.

Is there any "effect" for MMD ? i means, fire animation, ice, smoke, muzzle flash etc.
all that kind of stuff, i wanted to make some scene from different movies and video game cutscenes, just to have fun.

Those are just some of many. The ones in the SS I've posted actually look bad/average in comparison to what's available.

MikuMikuDance is just a name the program outgrew a long time ago. It's stupid, but I suspect if they changed the name they'd see more community growth.

The smaller torrent/installation package has the full game install, as well as the better README instructions. The 44GB torrent also has the full game,as well as a rather large amount of mod files. Unless you think you're absolutely going to need some 40+ Gigs of mod files, you're probably better off only downloading just the game and then perusing the mod catalog to find the mods you want. The wiki has the location of the uploaders, wher you can download individual mod files.

I think the torrents only have the patch files up to version 3; you'll need to download the 4.1 patch from the TechArts website and then Google the 4.1 decensor patch.

pose editor should be a lot easier if you use the arrow keys+modifier buttons to make poses rather than the mouse. the mouse is ok for really broad adjustments, but it's very clumsy.

also, you can always just use the pose pack in the second post. with so many poses available there's not much need to do more than make small edits to existing poses, usually(if you can take the time to browse through them).

also, i don't know if you're the same guy from earlier, but it looks like you don't have antialiasing on. it makes a difference.

mmd is a much better posing tool but it can take some work to get the characters to look good. but it's rewarding because you can pretty much have a new look every day even with the same mods by messing with mme and color/lighting values for the model.

i've been uploading the body pack for a bit now. i've mainly made it so new people won't have to go hunting for new bodies to get a good idea of what's available as body mods are possibly the most important thing.

i don't think people who have been here for awhile will find anything new. also, it's not a "loli body mod pack," but there are(or should be...) plenty of flat chested bodies.

i'm uploading it as 4 parts, each about 200mb. it'll make things easier to update if i decide to do more with it and generally make things easier to download/re-download.

i've left the files as they were distributed, so expect to have to do a little unzipping or possibly use maketah. if this is a problem, say so now, but if i were to do otherwise it'd make the pack needlessly(?) bigger than it already is.

posting their file names is your best option. unless somebody wants to upload the hard save collection posted awhile back(the original uploader took it down).

it's very easy to post a hard save if given the file name. file names are unique so it's usually just a matter of pasting the name into a search of the hard save folder and reposting.

welcome to tdcg life. leave your old one at the door if applicable.

i'd say the old person's rule to hard save requests is good: keep requests to things you are actually going to use presently, and keep groups of 4 hard saves as the upper limit for one request. if you're requesting something from a past thread it's not really a problem so long as you post the filename properly.

this was put together fairly haphazardly, but it's more or less just a matter of unzipping/unpacking the mods and putting them into your arcs folder. it may require toonshader2. post if you encounter problems, although i can't guarantee i'll be able to help.

i included some eyes where i felt it would be a good idea(such as the njx bodies).

i tried to keep the odd/realistic mods in d and e and tried to put the ones that seem to be the best in a/b/c(high polies, cusjiru, njx, nmm/a series, sakuranbo, etc). it's just a general rule and there are some exceptions because i had to shift some things around for file size restrictions.

perhaps there is some deep-behind-the-scenes thing that goes on with japan's mod culture(i consider myself fairly well acquainted with tdcg's), but there are so many mods that with their(comparatively) strict mod sharing culture it doesn't surprise me that a few would get lost in the noise. there are a lot of really pointless mods that are created.

i could see the point in a pack for body mods, since unless you have a preview picture it's almost impossible to know what you're downloading before you download it and there are almost too many to sort through, but for something like copyrighted sets i don't see much of a need since you can easily use the catalog. doubly so because they're almost all on the XPC uploader, which is well preserved.

the one set i know of that i don't see on the catalog is XPC02098, which is a(very well done in my opinion) set of melody and rhythm. pic is related(color edited).

if you want to post a save but it's too big, most of the time you can remove the body mod(or other things people are likely to have personal taste for) and it will bring down the size enough to post.

Well i found something shocking about the mod.
The texture is originally made by ISAO (mmd).It has windows 100% Totori (which you have to buy) and the texture was edited.
But the outfit is very different looking then the win 100% version.

that's interesting. doubly so because i'd have to say i think that with a bit of tuning(proportions, edgework, skin color, and a few other things) i'd like the TDCG model better. i'm not sure which is more faithful to the original but the colors seem more vibrant. it seems like using the same texture as a for-sale model would be really frowned upon in the japanese community, though(unless ISAO was actually the modeller behind both?).

Not trying to be rude and this isn't just directed at you, but following with what an earlier post in this thread said, you're always far more likely to get your request answered if you provide a picture with your request. And make sure to describe what in the picture you're looking for; I've had several times where people have posted a picture with multiple characters in it mentioning a name and I had no idea which they were asking for. Happens most often with people asking for Touhou stuff. Sometimes I just won't answer if that happens.

Someone took the win 100 model.Made a mod of Totori (or ripped the win 100 to metasequoia and edited then put it to 3DCG).Was to lazy to make his/her own texture so took win 100 texture and edited with out permission. Posted it up thought it was OK to post copyrighted textures,people that were friends/fans of ISAO download it and notice the texture looks a lot like ISAO (and those who had the heavy save and put to on mmd saw the texture looks are the same as ISAO).Yelled at the person that made the mod with illegal texture. He took it down (probably made mess of the Japanese mmd and 3DCG community for a little while).Other people stared to put up the heavy save and there unknown with ISAO and mmd.

pretty interesting, it's a modelling program tailored(apparently) specifically to making clothing called marvelous designer. i've never heard of it before but it looks really convenient.

would be interesting to see if it could be used for tdcg clothes. i like how it automatically calculates creases(or so it seems). don't really know if this kind of thing is easily doable in other major 3d programs.

Out of curiosity, is there a way to change the position of the camera? No matter how I move it, the camera is always tied to the center of the background. I have to drop the girl through the floor to zoom in on her face, for example. Any way around that?

there are too many to count, really... well, of skirts. i'd really just suggest downloading things en masse that have スカート in their name/tag.

shorts and pants, not so much, but there are some things. in particular there are some skinny jeans in XPC01382 and some jean shorts in XPC01744. the shorts in the aquila set are alright, as are the idolmaster ones in XPC02750/XPC02136. there are also some hotpants in mod0603(or 604), but while i suppose the texturing is very good in practice, i don't find them appealing.

there are some ninja/dancer style pants in XPC01598, XPC01344, and TAC1331. kind of hard to describe what i mean, but if you've played it, think ayame from tenchuu.

my personal favorites are probably the haku jeans in her hard save(seen in >>7436800, but that is in mmd and there's a reflective shader applied to it so it they don't look quite like that in tdcg) and the sports shorts in XPC02036(and probably ocean works' other mods).

i think that covers most of what i like(in addition to the earlier link). there's much more, but i chose not to list them because either
A) The texturing is bad
B) The shading is bad
C) They are huge(i.e. don't fit) in order to prevent clipping
and i imagine there are some i just didn't think of.

horo(spice and wolf)'s pants are also decent(but not well textured) and eas(pretty cure) has some unique hotpants. if you browse the hard save preview folder you might find some things you're interested in by looking at the hard save pictures.

keep in mind that tights/leggings mods can pass pretty well as pants as well, if you're looking for something to texture yourself. they're generally made more close-fitting. i guess an example would be the tights in the mixed armor set.

Not everything is in the torrent; it's only current up to around August of 2010. Everything newer (as well as everything in the torrent barring .tim files) can be found on the Japanese uploaders. Second post in the thread has the link.

If you've already got the torrent, then check it first; the uploaders can sometimes have slow download speeds.

Given her explosive popularity I'm surprised I haven't found a mod of the sorceress from Dragon's Crown yet.

Someone is going to do it eventually, so I hope whoever does makes the outfit well. If I didn't have such low stamina I'd probably have broken myself over her by now.
