Has /jp/ played this game? If so, what did you think of it?

It looks dark.

Yume Nikki is a wonderful game, but I wish for a different ending.

Fan base is a little fault for that.

Pretty much this. Played it, loved it, was rather depressed after finishing it. If you like Yume Nikki, you could try the Yume 2kki, which is a sequel (well, kind of) by the same author.

It is not by the same author, it is a fan game.

I've been wondering /jp/, how are you supposed to play this game?

My question is, should you follow a guide, or should you just explore the vast empty rooms for hours searching for some object.

I used a guide, but I heard somewhere in order to get the best experience you should play without one.

OP here. I was wondering this too. I've just started playing about two hours ago, and it seems like it's going to be a really long process to discover everything on my own. I'm reluctant to use a guide or walkthrough, though, because I feel like that will ruin the game for me.

Oh, really? I heard otherwise. But I guess that's not surprising. It plays just like the first part, unlike stuff like .flow, though.

Enjoy the really long progress on your own.

Yume Nikki is not a game. Getting to the "end" gets you no rewards.

Thinking Yume Nikki as a game makes it a really shitty game. Yume Nikki is more like an interactive artistic work.

Don't use a guide. Ever. The game is not about being completed. The only excuse I would accept is getting a bicycle with the help of a guide, just cause walking can be tiring sometimes. Otherwise, it ruins most of the experience.

>> No.7386775

I loved exploring the nothingness in the dark, with my headphones at 4am. You're wandering aimlessly and don't know what to expect.

>> No.7386802

I used the a guide for the last 3 or 4 effects because I wasn't able to find them.
I felt bad though.
I wish I would have been able to find them without guide
