Besides Shiki, who's powers I have a complete understanding of, what can every other character do? I kind of get Azaka, but I'm completely lost on what Kirie's, Fujino's, Soren's and Leo's abilities are. Vague translations suck.

Kirie's ability is "Double Existence." It allowed her to control two bodies with one mind, her physical body and a her that was in the sky. From there it gets into a bunch of really fucking awesome philosophical bullshit that only Nasu could possibly write, but, ignoring the rest of Kirie's and Tohko's dialogue, the her in the sky is basically a ghost. Her one real ability is being able to convince people that they can fly. This caused them to jump off that one building and become ghosts themselves. There's various other factors to her power, but you're just going to have to watch the movie to get it all.

Souren's a bitch. He carries around seven bounded fields, which (might be bullshit, I forgot, though the info is probably in fuyuki) each have the defending power of a castle. Think of Archer's Rho Aius. He is over 200 years old. Although his principal magic is never mentioned (he sues some buddhist chantings or the like as spells), he studied 'death', in order to reach Akasha.
Because of that, his existence had begun to slowly transform into a concept (Nasuverse thing, the closer someone gets too close to the root, they slowly begin to vanish from this world), so not even Shiki line-stabbing him could kill the man (at the end, even though he disappears, he talks as if it won't be a permanent thing).
So manly, eh? Can also walk through walls, but maybe that's just because he had created the building.

Lio's power is eating. Yes, it's worthless as far as fighting awesomeness goes, but it gives him beastly reflexes and power. Also made him batshit crazy.

Kirie = Her actual power comes in the form of curses. The Fujoh family were originally shrine maidens (Hisui/Kohaku are actually descendants of them), so their power was in various praying-related stuff. Or synchronizing, as far as Kohaku & Hisui go. Kirie's powers were a curse-like suggestion, which convinced people that they could fly while they slept. However, when they woke up, the suggestion remained and they tried to fly, thus killing themselves.
The double existence thing is rather unexplained, but it was basically Souren giving her another body, for her mind which had done some weird shit (eyes in the sky, etc).

Fujino~n's power is to bend/twist, and later on, clairvoyance. Pseudo-mystic eyes that put two fulcrums around the target, then bend it. They work like turkeyhandle's Akiha's power, in that the target has to be in sight for the powers to work (minus at the end when she destroys the Broad Bridge).

Azaka's power is ignition. Apparently magic, but she uses the gloves for some reason. Maybe for a powerup?

Like most hax stuff, it isn't really explained (I think that she couldn't get close due to the bounded barriers, but a latter part makes be doubt this), although Shiki does some stuff so fucking impressive against him that I lack of a good term to describe it. Also, she isn't using her knife against Souren, as usual, but a katana.

Other possibility is that, because of the katana, she wasn't using the magan, but just sheer force against him. Well, we'll see in the movie.

Chapter 5 is by far the best in the novel, so even if you dislike the first four (what?) watch this.

I didn't see anything in his text to imply that he'd ever come back.

Of course, if she didn't use the MEoDP then your theory is completely valid, but if Soren had the weak spots for Ryogi to target, he had the flaws necessary to display them and his death would be absolute. It'd be even more so when going up again Tohno or Roa-SHIKI because they directly negate the targets ability to continue living entirely.

From some synopsis I read(Evospace's lol), she destroyed two of Araya's bounded field in an instant, Araya jump back to get away from her, next thing he realize is that he already lose his arm. He doesn't even know when did she cut it off.

She was almost definitely using MEoDP. It seems that even the bounded fields had flaws for Ryogi to exploit, and of course Shiki could have easily sliced Soren's arm off without the use of her eyes, but she it's most likely that she did.

Going further into that, Souren's main field of magic is probably bounded fields. The ability to have seven of them is supposed to be pretty fucking amazing in Nasuverse. Bounded fields are always static, something put on a place for that place only, and the fact that he can -move- with seven of them always active should show how badass of a magus he is. Also, the focus of his research wasn't death, but 'soul' as opposed to Touko's 'body'. Death was just a means to understand the soul, and that mansion built following some sort of buddhist-like mandala in which Tomoe lived was basically his death research lab.
Finally, the reason why he doesn't die when his lines are cut is because he has grafted Shakyamuni's bones on his right arm, an artifact which embodies the concept of reincarnation, i.e. the soul surviving the death of the body. Basically he found the one conceptual shield able to resist to some extent the imperfect chokushi no magan.

The bounded fields part would have blown me away was it not for the fact that Ryogi destroyed them so easily. So yeah. Soren is a nerfed Roa, basically. The part about him reincarnating makes sense, since Ryogi's powers cannot prevent reincarnation like Tohno's or Roa-SHIKI's can.
